WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AN ASSIGNED PRIEST AND A RESIDENT PRIEST? Some parishioners have asked why we don’t have more masses since we have six priests living at the parish. The two priests assigned by the Cardinal to the parish as their full–time responsibility are Fathers Paul and Brendan. The others, Bishop Jeff, and Fathers Stan, Fil, and Kenneth, all have full–time jobs outside of the parish. Bishop Jeff will be the Episcopal Vicar for Vicariate 1, Fathers Fil and Kenneth are while Fr. Kenneth is getting his doctorate, and Fr. Stan is a professor at DePaul University. Occasionally they may be available to help out at St. Mother Guerin, and they have always been generous in their help, but they are not assigned here.
