PROJECT COEUR

Nel cuore dei Cammini d’Europa, il sentiero che unisce

Funding: European Duration: Mar 2013 - May 2015 Status: Complete

Objectives:

The project consists of the creation and promotion of a network that involves an extensive part of the transalpine area. The network’s aim is to manage and integrate a mobility system that will connect all sites that have a historical, religious and natural value. The network will also improve the efficient use of the area’s available resources and will link the main European routes (Santiago Path, Via Francigena) through an Italian-Suisse cross-border connection. The network will also organize common events for the enhancement and discovery of the area and will encourage cooperation initiatives between and Switzerland (such as cultural/theatrical commentaries, sport events, conferences, expositions).

The project can be divided into three main activities:

1. Organization, promotion and integration of tourist services along pathways (i.e. Sacri Monti, Madonne Nere and other UNESCO sites) which connect Italy to Switzerland. 2. Organization of events and overall enhancement of the system. 3. Territorial interventions.
