MIÉRCOLES 9 de Novimebre de 2011 a las 19:15 hrs Auditorio de la UTM Cine Club - Ciclo XXV La imaginería de TIM BURTON EL CADAVER DE LA NOVIA (2005) SINOPSIS: Es una película de género fantástico basada en un cuento popular ruso- judío del siglo XIX y ambientada en un pueblo ficticio de la época victoriana. Fue filmada utilizando por primera vez en un largometraje la técnica del Stop-Motion y se ha convertido en un clásico. La historia se sitúa en un frío y triste pueblo de la Época Victoriana, una parodia de la Europa aristocrática. Un joven nervioso llamado Víctor, hijo de los pescadores Nell y William Van Dort, está a punto de casarse con la joven y bella Victoria, hija de los aristócratas arruinados Maudeline y Finis Everglot. Aunque no se conocen, quedan prendidos el uno del otro casi al instante. La película muestra el estilo y los temas clásicos de Tim Burton (la compleja interacción entre la luz y la oscuridad y el estar atrapado entre dos mundos irreconciliables). Así pues, la mujer comienza su relato... Su historia se inicia cuando, hacia los años 70, una vendedora de maquillaje llamada Peg, entra a una mansión con el fin de vender sus productos de belleza AVON. Al adentrarse en el lugar se encuentra con Edward, un joven que fue creado a partir de un robot y no fue terminado tras la muerte de su creador, quedando con tijeras en vez de manos… El protagonista, Johnny Deep, es el joven solitario e ingenuo con tijeras en vez de manos. Es encontrado por la promotora de maquillaje Peg Boggs. Conmovida por su bondad e inocencia decide llevárselo a su casa de colores pasteles tipo "paraíso suburbano". Edward intenta demostrar a cada uno en su vecindad que puede aceptar las cosas de la vida y ser feliz. También ofrece una renovación para la vecindad entera pues con el filo de navaja de sus manos puede hacer cosas como realizar esculturas podando las plantas o cortando el pelo. Auditorio de la UTM Cine Club - Ciclo XXV La imaginería de TIM BURTON NUEVE (2009) Un científico innombrado recibe la orden del dictador de la nación para crear una máquina de inteligencia artificial llamada B:R:A:I:N. que utiliza para construir artefactos de destrucción para ser usados contra los seres humanos lo mismo que gases tóxicos para derrotar cualquier señal de vida. Pero unos diminutos robots son también creados y son los mismos que se enfrentan a la máquina bestial. Se trata de otro de los largometrajes creados por Tim Burton usando la técnica de Stop Motion, esto es cuadro por cuadro, dando como resultado una película donde el diseño y la técnica son de alta calidad y la estética primordial. "9" tells the story of a post-apocalyptic world in which machines have destroyed the human race. A group of small creations was given the spark of life by a scientist in the final days of humanity, and they continue to exist post-apocalypse. With their group so few, these "stitchpunk" creations must summon individual strengths well beyond their own proportions in order to outwit and fight against still-functioning machines. At Starz Animation Toronto, 125 animation artists and 100 other employees completed work on "9" in just 14 months. Maya was used for asset creation, camera work and animation, while Mudbox was used for digital sculpting and texturing. Director of Photography Kevin Adams said, "'9' is a testament to what can be achieved with good planning, fearless execution, and great tools and support from Autodesk." The film's virtual camera is positioned only nine inches off the ground, showing the world from the characters' perspective. This zoomed-in view required highly detailed characters and environments. Adams explained, "Our greatest creative challenge was creating a close-up view that still felt visually rich. Every sequence has a new location with either a new stitchpunk character or an attacking monster." Starz Animation Toronto developed a tremendous amount of detail for each scene.
