HISTORY OF THE BAND

SADA BORNEO was formed out of the friendship between the members who have been performing together since 2012 in Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). The creation of SADA BORNEO began when Hallan Hashim and Wilker met during their first year in Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in 2011. They found themselves to have similar passion in music and it brought them together. Since then, they started performing for various events as a duo. They also performed for Malam Bumi Kenyalang (MBK) in 2012, a Sarawak cultural night organised by USM's Sarawak student society; Perkumpulan Anak-Anak Sarawak (PERKASA).

The year 2013 saw the formation of SADA BORNEO as they were invited again to perform for malam bumi kenyalang. Alvin, hilmi, allister and a few more friends joined hallan and wilker to perform for MBK 2013. During the sound check for that event, they were asked to come up with a band name and settled on the name 'SADA BORNEO', which means ‘the sound of Borneo’. MBK 2013 was the very first time they performed live using that name.

In 2014, SADA BORNEO started to expand in its line- up and now consists of 8 members. All members are close friends in USM prior to becoming a band. Later that year, the band gained popularity for representing Malaysia in AXN's Asia's Got Talent, aired in 20 countries across Asia. SADA BORNEO's participation in AXN's Asia's Got Talent was the highlight of their music career, having to be the only representative from Malaysia as a semi-finalist.
