Valedictorian and Salutatorian Garrett Howell is the valedictorian for the class of 2020. Garrett is the son of Benjamin and Anita Howell. He has at- tended MCS since 5th grade. He participated in Track, Broad- cast Journalism, Wilderness Club and was a member of the National Honor Society and Mu Apha Theta (Math Club). He attends People of Mars Hill Church. He plan to attend Auburn this fall and major in Bio-Medical Science with ultimately a doctoral degree in Physical Therapy. Garrett says of MCS, “I very much enjoyed the sense of community that exists at school and believe it contributed to my success in the classroom.” Nick McPhillips is the son of Mac and Natasha McPhillips. He entered MCS in 9th grade. He played on the football team and he enjoys recreational fishing and . Nick was a mem- ber of the National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta. He attends Corpus Christi and he is attending Birmingham-Southern this fall where he plans to ma- jor in Finance. Nick said this about MCS, “Mobile Christian is full of loving and caring teachers, coaches, and administrators. I would not be the man I am today without the wonderful people pushing me to be my best. It was truly a life changing experience.”

My time in college calculus class was a dark time filled with fear and uncertainty.
