They beat Club Atlético de Madrid 5-1 over two legs to claim the 1973/74 European Champion Clubs' Cup, and then beat Valencia CF 5-4 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in the 2000/01 UEFA Champions League final in Milan. • Getafe by contrast are up against German opposition for the first time. • Rubén De La Red can at least claim to have seen the inside of the Fußball Arena München before, having been an unused substitute as Real Madrid CF lost 2-1 in the second leg of last season's UEFA Champions League first knockout round. His side lost on away goals with the aggregate score 4-4. • Bayern coach Ottmar Hitzfeld has never won the UEFA Cup before, although he has twice triumphed in the UEFA Champions League – with BV Borussia Dortmund in 1996/97 and in his first spell with Bayern in 2000/01. -
FC Barcelona V Sevilla FC MATCH PRESS KIT Louis II, Monaco Friday, 25 August 2006 - 20:45 CET Final
FC Barcelona v Sevilla FC MATCH PRESS KIT Louis II, Monaco Friday, 25 August 2006 - 20:45 CET Final The 2006 UEFA Super Cup is very much a Primera División affair although some of the world's greatest names will be on show at the Stade Louis II when FC Barcelona take on Sevilla FC. The traditional European season curtain-raiser will be an all-Spanish occasion for the first time and it is also Monaco's maiden experience of a one-off duel between two clubs from the same country. Glory in May • Barcelona enter as Europe's premier team after a 2-1 victory against Arsenal FC in the UEFA Champions League final in Paris on 17 May, while Sevilla participate as UEFA Cup holders having triumphed 4-0 in Eindhoven against Middlesbrough FC a week before. • Both sides will start the defence of their European titles next month, while beginning their 2006/07 league programmes on the Monday after Monaco. Barcelona will travel to RC Celta de Vigo and Sevilla are at home against Levante UD. Previous meetings • The teams have met once before under UEFA auspices, in the 1995/96 UEFA Cup third round. The first leg in Seville finished 1-1 on 21 November, with Gheorghe Hagi cancelling out Davor Šuker's goal for the hosts just before half-time. Barcelona then won the 5 December return 3-1. All the goals came in the last 28 minutes, with José Mari Bakero, Gheorghe Popescu and Roger García on target for Barça and Gabriel Moya Sanz earning a consolation for Sevilla, who had José Miguel Prieto sent off. -

Getafe CF - SL Benfica MATCH PRESS KIT Coliseum Alfonso Pérez, Getafe Wednesday 12 March 2008 - 21.00 CET (21.00 local time) Round of 16, - Matchday 9 Contents 1 - Match background 6 - Competition facts 2 - Squad list 7 - Team facts 3 - Match officials 8 - Competition information 4 - Domestic information 9 - Legend 5 - Match-by-match lineups Match background Getafe CF will look to reach the UEFA Cup quarter-finals in their first season in Europe as they look to build on a 2-1 lead from the first leg against SL Benfica. • Second-half goals from Rubén De La Red and Pablo Hernández saw the Spanish side take full advantage following Óscar Cardozo's early dismissal in Lisbon. Mantorras pulled one back for Benfica, yet the home team's 300th game in UEFA club competition was to be one they would rather forget. • Benfica are now without a permanent coach, with José Antonio Camacho resigning in the wake of a 2-2 draw against Portugal's bottom side, UD Leiria, on Sunday. The 52-year-old former Real Madrid CF left-back said: "I cannot do anything more to improve the team's performances." • In the short term, Camacho has been replaced by Fernando Chalana. The 49-year-old former Portugal and Benfica winger, who also played for FC Girondins de Bordeaux, has been on the club's coaching staff since hanging up his boots in the early 1990s. • This will be Chalana's first game as a coach in UEFA club competition, but he twice faced Spanish sides as a player. -

He spent the night in an Athens hospital for observation but was released the following morning and allowed to fly home. Gavilán has been signed off for two weeks as a precautionary measure, saying: "I'm lucky to be alive. I would rather not watch the replay of the accident on television. I now see life from a different perspective." • AEK have now played 17 games against Spanish sides, winning two, drawing five and losing ten. Their eight previous trips to Spain have ended in two draws and six defeats. • AEK have not won home or away against a Spanish side since beating Athletic Club Bilbao 1-0 at home in the first round of the 1988/89 UEFA Cup. -

The meeting of AC Milan and Sevilla for the UEFA Super Cup will feature a special UEFA tribute to a 22-year-old described by one of the many to have voiced their grief this week as a "magnificent player, an even better person". • The 2007 UEFA Super Cup will be the first time the teams have met in UEFA competition. • Milan have won the UEFA Super Cup a record four times, most recently as European champions in 2003, and are also the only club to complete back-to-back victories when winning in 1989 and 1990. They will be up against a Sevilla side aiming to emulate that achievement after brushing aside the might of FC Barcelona a year ago with a 3-0 victory. • Milan enter the 32nd edition of the UEFA Super Cup, which has been an official UEFA club competition since 1973, as Europe's premier team after a 2-1 victory against Liverpool FC in the UEFA Champions League final in Athens on 23 May. Sevilla participate as UEFA Cup holders having triumphed 3-1 on penalties against RCD Espanyol after a 2-2 draw in Glasgow a week before.
