Originally known as the Anaheim Mighty Ducks, this NHL franchise was originally brought to Anaheim by the Walt Disney Company after their hit movies, The Mighty Ducks. Founded in 1993, the Anaheim Mighty Ducks were the first tenants in Arrowhead Pond, now known as the Honda Center. After seeing mediocre results, the Disney Company decided to sell the team in 2005.
2006 saw a rebirth of the franchise, as they were renamed the Anaheim Ducks. Since this time, the Ducks have made the playoffs 3 out of 4 years, and won the Stanley Cup in 2007. They are looking forward to the 2010-11 season to build off past successes and get back to the Stanley Cup Finals!
