Fair Play “Fair Play" is the most essential rule in any games carried out within a league/tournament on NHLGamer.com. In general, "Fair Play" describes the act of treating your opponent the way you would like to be treated. This includes communication, but also any actions which are directly or indirectly related to gameplay.

To give you an idea of what to avoid to comply with this Fair Play rule, here are a few examples:

• Do not attack your opponent with abusive language • Do not exploit game mechanics or bugs to put your opponent at a disadvantage (e.g. do not make use of any player stats exploits, de-sync glitches, freezes, or similar) • Do not distract your opponent from playing the game (e.g. do not spam messages, do not call your opponent while he/she is in-game or similar) • Do not leave during the game. “Rage quitting” can lead to sanctions and even removal from the tournament. The reason is respect for the game and the opponent, as well the possible significance of the difference when tied in points

General Rules • Points ○ Victory in regular time 2p ○ Victory in overtime 2p ○ Loss in overtime 1p ○ Loss 0p

• Tie-Breaking Rules ○ If players are tied in points the following tiebreakers will be applied in the order they are listed: ■ Pool play placement ■ Points per game (PPG) * ■ Wins (including overtime wins) * ■ Head-to-head record (points in mutual games) ■ Goal difference 8

■ Scored goals *

* Because different groups may have a different number of games played, some statistics are compared on a “per game” basis.

○ Players are seeded in the playoffs based on Pool Play rankings as follows: ■ Group winners (#1-6) ■ Runner-ups (#7-12) ■ Group 3rd (#13-18) ■ Group 4th (#19-24)

Other rules • All protests regarding the outcome of the game must be made within 10 minutes of the end of the game • If a player is more than 15 minutes late without notice, the opponent must contact the tournament administrators immediately (the message should include proof that the opponent did not show up) • Depending on the reasons for the delay, the administration of the tournament may result in the late user losing the game • Both players may use a pause during a break • A player may leave the match during the first two minutes if there is a significant delay in the game • The match should be restarted from the beginning if the player drops out of the match during the first two minutes or some other error occurs • Goals scored in the first two minutes will remain in effect even if the game is restarted due to a problem situation • The player must not intentionally leave the game after the first two minutes • If the clock jumps backward, the match must be returned to the state it was in when the error occurred (goals and penalties) • If a player drops out of the match after the first two minutes, proceed as follows: o The match is restarted and returned to the same state as before (goals and penalties) o The clock is let to run to the point where the player dropped, and the game continues from here on as normal o Players can also agree on an alternative procedure (if there is no official broadcast of the match)

The tournament organizer reserves the right to change the rules. 9

Streaming • If there is an official broadcast of the match, the player may not stream the game to their own account • A better-seeded player in a match series offers the production a stream of the matches unless another player can ensure better quality • Each player must be on the NHLGamer's Discord server for matchmaking and communication with the production crew • Other rules and regulations: o Do not use your own overlay in the stream delivered for production o Turn off in-game commentators o Turn off menu music o Make sure all other sound settings are full (in order to create atmosphere) o Calibrate the display correctly so that the clock is in the correct position o Replays must not be skipped o Feel free to show replays during intermissions o Don’t skip intermissions

Connection Problems Matches are not meant to be played with a poor internet connection. If you encounter problems with the quality of the connection - contact your opponent to solve the problem immediately at the beginning of the game, before goals are scored, so that connection problems can be resolved in as neutral a way as possible.

• If there is a significant delay in the match after the first two minutes, the player must gather sufficient evidence (for example, a video clip recorded on a console) and leave the match o Contact your opponent and explain why you left the match o Each player checks their own connection to see if there is anything going on with the network (downloads, updates, family members, etc.) o If the connection problems are not resolved, submit the evidence to the administration and wait for further instructions • If the match is completed, both parties have accepted the conditions

We expect tournament participants to have a wired connection with a speed of at least 3/1 Mb/s and connected to the console with an Ethernet cable.

• Users must have NAT TYPE 1 (OPEN) or 2 (MODERATE) • If the above requirements are not met, the player may be removed from the tournament 10

Read here for instructions on changing the NAT TYPE: • PS4 • XBOX
