Dear Rancho fans, music lovers and BBQ aficionados, Let’s get ready to RAMBLE! Rancho Nicasio is alive and well and we hope all of you are too. We are entering our 15th season and we are as enthusiastic and grateful as year one. Our longtime staff is intact and ready to serve. Another mild winter helped support the troops. Everyone is looking forward to working outdoors in our beautiful valley. Here’s what we have lined up for our BBQ series 2013: THE BLUES BROADS with TRACY NELSON, DOROTHY MORRISON, ANNIE SAMPSON and ANGELA STREHLI will open the season on Sunday, May 26th. Their much acclaimed CD/DVD that was released last year has put them on the national map and we are very proud to have been able to give these women an opportunity to show their stuff. Your support helped make that possible. And for those of you who haven’t experienced this soulful “live” show, well, you really should. For that matter, I wouldn’t want to miss MARCIA BALL either. She will be here Memorial Day, Monday, May 27th. What you might want to do is come both days, that’s right, it’s all that good. And if you do, it will be my pleasure to buy you a beverage of your choice! What can I say, I really love all these women and I want you to come. ELVIN BISHOP will bring his rocking blues band for Father’s Day, Sunday, June 16th. No one has had more fun playing the blues than our dear friend.

  • The Dealership of Tomorrow 2.0: America’S Car Dealers Prepare for Change
The Dealership of Tomorrow 2.0: America’s Car Dealers Prepare for Change February 2020 An independent study by Glenn Mercer Prepared for the National Automobile Dealers Association The Dealership of Tomorrow 2.0 America’s Car Dealers Prepare for Change by Glenn Mercer Introduction This report is a sequel to the original Dealership of Tomorrow: 2025 (DOT) report, issued by NADA in January 2017. The original report was commissioned by NADA in order to provide its dealer members (the franchised new-car dealers of America) perspectives on the changing automotive retailing environment. The 2017 report was intended to offer “thought starters” to assist dealers in engaging in strategic planning, looking ahead to roughly 2025.1 In early 2019 NADA determined it was time to update the report, as the environment was continuing to shift. The present document is that update: It represents the findings of new work conducted between May and December of 2019. As about two and a half years have passed since the original DOT, focused on 2025, was issued, this update looks somewhat further out, to the late 2020s. Disclaimers As before, we need to make a few things clear at the outset: 1. In every case we have tried to link our forecast to specific implications for dealers. There is much to be said about the impact of things like electric vehicles and connected cars on society, congestion, the economy, etc. But these impacts lie far beyond the scope of this report, which in its focus on dealerships is already significant in size. Readers are encouraged to turn to academic, consulting, governmental and NGO reports for discussion of these broader issues.

Led by pacesetters such as Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Kris Kristofferson, and Bobby Bare, artists in Nashville and Austin demanded the creative freedom to make their own country music, different from the pop-oriented sound that prevailed at the time. This exhibition also examines the cultures of Nashville and fiercely independent Austin, and the complicated, surprising relationships between the two. Artwork by Sam Yeates, Rising from the Ashes, Willie Takes Flight for Austin (2017) 3-6 Introduction 3 This interdisciplinary lesson guide allows classrooms to explore the exhibition Outlaws and Armadillos: Country’s Roaring ‘70s on view at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum® from May 25, 2018 – February 14, 2021. Students will examine the causes and effects of the Outlaw movement through analysis of art, music, video, and nonfiction texts. In doing so, students will gain an understanding of the culture of this movement; who and what influenced it; and how these changes diversified country music’s audience during this time.
