This year the theme of George DelGrosso Reform: Better Care  Better Health  Better Cost stands to be a very exciting one. The Chief Executive Officer CBHC conference is the largest behavioral health conference in the Rocky Mountain area, Colorado Behavioral Healthcare Council (CBHC) and offers state of the art thinking about how behavioral health organizations are critical to Denver, CO meeting the Triple Aim of health care reform. Peter P. Cukale Vice-President People's behaviors can improve physical health outcomes and the best results are achieved Aurora Mental Health Center Board of Directors when behavioral and physical health providers and consumers work together to improve Aurora, CO health and meet the Triple Aim. As we did last year, we are excited to offer Clinical, Board/Manager, and Business tracks simultaneously from Friday through Sunday, with the Cindi Dodd specific aim of appealing to a broader array of people. We are also starting the Clinical track Chief Operations Officer on Thursday afternoon with an “all clinical” afternoon that ends on Sunday at noon. Touchstone Health Partners Ft. Collins, CO Some specific highlights include: Monica Oss and John Talbot from Open Minds who will speak on new service lines and marketing. Chris Peterson and Nansook Park will offer two Jeannie Larsen full days on mentor coaching. This training will provide new ways to work with clients as well Human Resource Specialist as a foundation for helping personnel engage in new service lines that work well with Southeast MHS, La Junta, CO physical health care. Lisa La Rose Dale Jarvis will share his latest thinking about integrated care and payment models. The Program Director and Supervisor Integration track will offer sessions taught by national and local experts on integrated pain Spanish Peaks MHC, Pueblo, CO management, trauma-informed care, and other tools to provide effective care in integrated Vicki Linden settings. Plus the newest research on what is new in the area of integration with physical and Integration Specialist behavioral health. ValueOptions, Colorado Springs, CO

We are bringing back two outstanding speakers from last year, Sara Qualls and Isabel Beth Lonergan Tierney. Sara will again share her knowledge regarding working with seniors and Isabel will Director of Clinical Operations and again address eating disorders. These two speakers were in high demand! Amy Gallagher Performance Excellence is also returning, and will speak on the Columbia model of working with youth who have an Mental Health Partners, Boulder, CO oppositional defiant disorder. The manual she shared was viewed as a key tool for all clinicians who work with children. Pam Wise Romero, PhD Chief Clinical Officer Our Friday afternoon keynote features Dr. Elizabeth Stuyt, who addresses the topic of Axis Health Systems, Durango, CO medical marijuana. Peter Brinkerhoff, the Saturday keynote, will be speaking about stewardship and making good decisions in bad times. It will be pure fun with the Spanish Peaks Behavioral Health, Pueblo, CO “Patsy DeCline Show” performed by Lannie Garrett. This will be a hilarious parody of some of the “real Patsy's” songs.

We have many great sessions for Board members, including best practice for non profit governance, “Finance 101” for board members, and leadership for board members. Of course we will have a board roundtable where board members can meet one another, debrief the conference, and ask questions of other board members from across the state. Program Highlights

1:00pm – 2:30pm #100  | Trauma Informed Care and Recovery: Reforming Behavioral Health Care - Part 1 | David Fuller | Peak 9/10 This presentation will explain what Trauma is, how it affects people, and the prevalence of Trauma in the Behavioral Health care system. A detailed explanation of what Trauma Informed Care is and what it is not will be given in such a way that attendees will be able to directly apply what is learned to their everyday practice; whether they are an administrator, clinician, or support staff. Anecdotal and empirical evidence will be presented to support the fact that in order to give the best recipient experience possible and the best work environment for staff we must change over to a Trauma Informed Recovery based approach to our work to see the people receiving our care fully engaged, informed, and empowered. David Fuller, CPRP, CASAC, CCM, CFPS, Behavioral Health Associate- Health and Hospitals Corp. Senior Consultant-National Center for Trauma Informed Care. As an administrator, service provider, and independent consultant, Mr. Fuller is an agent of change, and draws on personal experience as a consumer, and the opportunity to overcome many challenges, to fuel his mission of improving access to services for people who have been affected by psychiatric diagnoses, substance abuse and use the public mental health system; for this reason he was called before the United States Senate Sub Committee on Human Rights to testify on the subject of incarceration and mental illness. David has been a Keynote and presenter at events across the country and also a guest lecturer at the Columbia, NYU, Hunter, Hofstra, and Adelphi Schools of Social Work on Trauma and Recovery.

#101  | Access and Engagement | Noel Clark | Coppertop 2 Same Day Access (SDA) is a practice management strategy that will eliminate no-shows at intake, improve productivity and diversify pay sources if the practice can transform for an agency centered practice to a customer focused practice. This session reviews implementation of SDA and share policies, procedures and forms for providers to use when they implement SDA. Noel Clark, is the CEO of Carlsbad Mental Health Center who has worked with behavioral health providers across the country to contemplate, plan and implement Same Day Access, Customer Engagement Standards and Episode of Care Standards practice management techniques. These initiatives have expanded access, improved productivity, revenue production and case completion. Clark has also implemented innovative performance based incentives for all members of his staff.

#102  | Multimodal Therapy for Disruptive Behavior Disorders - Part 1 | Amy Gallagher | Imperial Ballroom Multimodal Therapy for Disruptive Behavior Disorders is an Evidence Based Practice appropriate for use with children aged 6-16 demonstrating behavioral difficulties. High amount of parental involvement during the therapeutic process is encouraged through this program. Sessions will focus on usage and implementation of this model through didactics, discussion, and interactive practice. Amy Gallagher, PsyD, a licensed clinical psychologist, is employed by Colorado West Regional Mental Health, Inc. as the Pre Doctoral Psychology Internship Training Director. Dr. Robert Chalfant, is a board certified child/adolescent and adult psychiatrist. During his tenure as Chief Medical Officer at Colorado West Regional Mental Health, Inc. from 1996 to June 2012, Dr. Chalfant consulted with healthcare professionals in Summit, Garfield and Mesa Counties in addressing the need for collaboration and integration in our ever changing healthcare system. In 2010, he was elected a member of the National Council's Leadership Council. Liza Fox-Wylie, is the State Health Information Technology Director at the Colorado Governor's Office of Information Technology. In this role she is responsible for strategic leadership across health information technology programs, including between state agencies, with non-governmental partners, and with the Colorado health care community. Previously, Liza led policy and public sector initiatives for the Colorado Regional Health Information Organization and served as a policy advisor to former Governor Bill Ritter, Jr.

Previously Ms. Reynolds was the Director of the Washtenaw Community Health Organization (WCHO) a nationally recognized organization in the integration of behavioral health and primary care services. The WCHO included a Community Mental Health Services Program, a Substance Abuse Coordinating Agency and primary health care capitation dollars for Medicaid and indigent consumers. Ms. Reynolds graduated from the University of Michigan, School of Social Work in 1982. Ms. Reynolds has presented at numerous conferences and conventions on the integrated health and is the author/co-author of numerous articles on integrated health. She co-authored a manual in implementing integrated care entitled, Raising the Bar: Moving toward the Integration of Health Care a Manual for Providers. Raising the Bar is in its second edition and is used widely to implement integration between the public behavioral health system and primary care providers.

George DelGrosso, is the Executive Director of Colorado Behavioral Healthcare Council (CBHC), which is the membership organization for all the 17 Community Mental Health Centers, 5 Behavioral Health Organizations and two specialty clinics in Colorado. Prior to this position he was the Executive Director of Mental Health Centers in the San Luis Valley of Colorado and Cody, Wyoming. George has been in the mental health field for almost 30 years. The progression of his career started out as a psychotherapist, then a marriage and family therapist, to clinical supervisor and program developer before moving into upper level and senior management. George's expertise ranges from creating and implementing effective public policy for behavioral health, training and development of people who aspire to be leaders, expanding organizational effectiveness, solving system of care issues for children and adults who have mental health treatment needs, and providing integrated high quality mental health treatment in rural settings. In addition to his duties at CBHC, George serves on the Executive Committee of the National Council for Behavioral Healthcare, and is chair of the Council's Association Executives Committee. George combines his years of experience at different levels of community mental health, the information he has assimilated on a broad range of mental health issues, and his familiarity with mental health service delivery across the state of Colorado and nationally to educate policy makers and the public about successful service delivery. Terri Hurst Greene, MSW, is the Director of Public Policy for the Colorado Behavioral Healthcare Council (CBHC). She is responsible for tracking, influencing, analyzing, and reporting on policy activities that will impact behavioral healthcare services at both the state and federal level. She also advocates on behalf of CBHC members and behavioral healthcare consumers. #908 | Improving Health and Healthcare for People with Serious Mental Illness Through BH Based Homes | Ben Druss | Imperial Ballroom This session will explore what is uniquely effective about interventions for people with serious mental illness when delivered through a health home in a behavioral healthcare setting. Participants will learn about new research on these interventions, and about policy that supports best practices. Ben Druss, MD, as the first Rosalynn Carter Chair in Mental Health at Emory University, Dr. Druss is working to build linkages between mental health, general medical health, and public health. He works closely with Carter Center Mental Health Program, where he is a member of the Mental Health Task Force and Journalism Task Force. He has been a member of two Institute of Medicine Committees, and has served as an expert consultant to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, the Centers for Disease Control, and the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation. Dr. Druss's research focuses on improving physical health and healthcare among persons with serious mental disorders. He has published more than 130 peer-reviewed articles on this and related topics, including the first randomized trial of an intervention to improve medical care in this population in 2001. His research is funded by grants from the National Institute of Mental Health and the Agency for Healthcare Quality and Research.
