In terms of Sub-Article (8) of Article 32 of Constitution, I announce that I have under Sub-Article (4)(a)(aa) of that Article, read with Article 82(3) of that Constitution, appointed, on the recommendation of the Judicial Service Commission, Adv. P J Miller as Acting Judge of the High Court of Namibia with effect from 1 April 2012 to 30 April 2013.

EXEMPTION UNDER SECTION 105 OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC AND TRANSPORT ACT, 1999

Under section 105 of the Road Traffic and Transport Act, 1999 (Act No. 22 of 1999), I

(a) exempt, in respect of any place within Namibia, the vehicles of the persons mentioned in Column 1 of the Schedule below from regulations 336 and 338 of the Regulations promulgated under Government Notice No. 53 of 30 March 2001 on the condition that a disc issued by the Directorate of Transportation Policy and Regulation, on behalf of the Ministry of Works and Transport, bearing the number indicated directly opposite that person in Column 2 of the Schedule, is displayed in a conspicuous position, on the windscreen of the motor vehicle concerned; and

Take note that the Omaruru Municipal Council intends to approve Omaruru Town Planning Amendment Scheme No. 5. This Scheme as a full 5 yearly revision of the Omaruru Town Panning Scheme and includes a revision of the definitions, clauses and Maps.

Notice is hereby given in terms of Section 50(3)(a)(ii) of the Local Authorities Act, 992 (Act No. 23 of 1992) that the Okahao Town Council proposes to permanently close Portion A (a Portion of the Remainder of Portion 1 of the Farm Okahao Townlands No. 989) as a ‘Street’ measuring ± 4477m2 in extent. The proposed street closure is to enable Council to rectify the current situation along the MR111 main road to Tsandi as the boundary walls of the erven located along the main road are encroaching onto the street.
