The only way to counteract that negativity is by experiencing unconditional love for each and every one of our brothers and sisters. Bamidbar contains a summary and listing of the 42 encampments that the Jewish people experienced during their 40 year sojourn in the desert. That is a messianic world where Almighty God will immediately restore All 42 journeys are listed in chronological order mentioning just the the Temple to us for as the cause of the destruction is eliminated the name of the place where they camped. renaissance and rebuilding will come immediately. When we each put forth our individual effort to reach that goal we will The Torah states that Aaron was 123 years old and his passing took place certainly walk hand-in-hand as a single unit of God’s chosen to the fnal on the frst day of Menachem Av (the ffth month). and complete redemption with Moshiach now. An obvious question arises as to why is this event included in the listing Have a great week, wonderful Shabbos and may these sad days be of the 42 encampments while the plurality of all other journeys are just transformed to days of joy, jubilation and celebratory holidays. told to us by name and place. Also why are these details in regards to Aaron‘s passing told to us here when we already read about the event of his actual passing in the portion of Chukas about a month ago where the specifcs would be more relevant. Rabbi S. Lipskar Also this is the only instance in the Torah when the actual date of ones passing is given. There is no other individual in the entire text where a specifc date is given for their passing. This Torah portion is always read either on the Sabbath blessing the month of Menachem Av or on Rosh Chodesh Menachem Av. Entering the nine day period of serious refection and mourning for the destruction of our Holy Temples and the expulsion of the Jewish people from the Holy Land, we refect seriously the reasons for this painful epoch in our history heralding a long and arduous exile which we are still experiencing. The central cause for this destruction was baseless hatred among which brought about continuing enmity, discord, disenfranchisement 3 Celebrating Shabbos with our Youth Everything you need for an “Over the Top” Shabbos experience Weekly Riddle

Hayom Yom In the winter of 1942, the sixth Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Yosef Y. Schneersohn, of righteous memory, gave his son- in-law, the future Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, of righteous memory, the task of compiling an anthology of Chasidic aphorisms and customs arranged according to the days of the year. The calendar was entitled Hayom Yom. In describing this work Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak wrote: …”A book that is small in format…but bursting with pearls and diamonds of choicest quality.” “A splendid palace of Chasidism.” True to these words, Hayom Yom has become a beloved classic work and a source of daily spiritual sustenance.
