Golf Tournament 2020 Teague Tours presents: Nullarbor Links “Chasing the Sun” Golf Tournament 2020 It is with enormous pleasure that I present the opportunity for you, your partner, family and friends to join me on this never forgotten, unachievable elsewhere in the World golf tournament…an all time “Bucket List” event. Travel with me from Adelaide to Perth joining another 60 participants on an incredible 12 day adventure incorporating some of the most breath-taking and, at times, desolate country the World has to offer. Imagine “ticking off” this event and be able to boast at your next dinner party that you have participated in, as well as completed, the Longest Golf Course in the World tournament, some 1365 kms in length. Player numbers for my group is limited to 8 only, however, I’d love to have extra non-players join in as we travel across the Nullarbor from Adelaide to Perth in my very comfortable Mercedes-Benz & trailer. Double and twin share accommodation is preferred due to numbers on tour. Highlights include:- 12 Days/11 Nights of serious fun and adventure, staying in some incredible places and experiencing outback hospitality like no other country can offer. Playing some of the World’s most remote golfing holes but not before experiencing fine food & wine in the Clare Valley and pristine oysters and seafood from South Australia’s Far West Coast. Imagine golf incorporating seafood, wine, bush dances, a Pirate treasure hunt, welcoming dinner, karaoke night, theatre evening and a “Dinner Jacket & Tie” finale dinner before completing our tour in Perth. I’m excited about this once in a lifetime experience and hope you, your partner, family and friends feel the same. #teaguetours Itinerary:- Wednesday 29th April 2020: Adelaide to Port Augusta via the Clare Valley and lunch at Skillogalee Winery. Accommodation at the Majestic Oasis Apartments, Port Augusta. Thursday 30th April 2020: Port Augusta to Ceduna via an incredible luncheon at “Alicia’s Café” Wudinna. Accommodation at the Ceduna Foreshore Hotel Motel. Friday 1st May 2020: First day of golf, with an Ambrose competition scheduled for 9:30am. Fancy an “oyster tour & taste” this afternoon prior to the welcoming dinner at the Foreshore Hotel!!! Saturday 2nd May 2020: 6:30am champagne breakfast, salute the rising sun at 6:53am before the first two holes of the Nullarbor Links Golf Course come into play. This afternoon we then head West and play the Penong hole before venturing on to this evening’s highlight, “Coorabie Farm”, for dinner and a bush dance like no other!!! Sunday 3rd May 2020: We bid farewell to “Coorabie” and continue our way West, with golf holes today at Nundroo and Nullarbor before finding our way to Border Village for this evening’s stop- over which includes a wine tasting by the pool. Monday 4th May 2020: Two holes to be played today, one at Border Village and the other at Eucla. At 2:30pm we head to Eucla Beach and will be met by a pirate who’s hidden a $1,000 gold nugget for someone to discover!!! Tuesday 5th May 2020: Balladonia is today’s destination and along the way we will be playing 4 holes of golf, one each at Mundrabilla, Madura, Cocklebiddy and Balladonia. Wednesday 6th May 2020: Off to Fraser Range Station today on a very relaxed day of travel. We play just the one hole today at Fraser Range, then later participate in a “$10,000 hole-in-one competition” as well as the annual putting competition. A Fraser Range dinner is followed by karaoke. Do you want to test your vocal cords…hahaha!!! Thursday 7th May 2020: 5 holes of golf today. First off will be two at Norseman, followed by one at Kambalda and the final two at Kalgoorlie. Accommodation at Rydges, Kalgoorlie. Friday 8th May 2020: Join the Sponsors of “Chasing the Sun” and the members of the Kalgoorlie Golf Course to play a 4 ball Ambrose tournament starting at 9:00am for a shotgun start. The rest of the day is for leisure (maybe visit the Super Pit) but keep in mind that this evening a little bit of culture can be had by attending the Kalgoorlie Repertory Club for a night of theatre and dinner!!! Saturday 9th May 2020: Today has been designed as a free day for all to do as they please…but the finale of the “Chasing the Sun” Golf Tournamnet 2020 is this evening’s “Jacket and Tie Dinner”. Sunday 10th May 2020: Teague Tours Participants will bid farewell to all this morning and conclude our tour in Perth later this afternoon. I’m excited, I hope you are too. In 1854 James Patten was granted a pastoral and grazing lease over Corunna Hill, 7 kilometres North East of present day Iron Knob. The year 1880 saw a Caltowie wheat buyer named Ernst Siekman supplying large quantities of flour to the rapidly burgeoning lead, silver and zinc mining community at Broken Hill. Aware of the possibilities of new mining ventures Ernst Siekman, his wife and other family members pegged out a lease at Iron Knob.

  • Newsletter 5 – November 2020
Perth to Sydney Newsletter 5 – November 2020 Newsletter time has come around again and for a change we have some real progress on the event. This month the feature photo is the fabulous Curnamona Station old homestead from our visit there in 2018. You can look forward to arriving outside this Passage Control to be greeted by the original 1968 London Sydney Control Banner. Route Checking Over the last two months we have made real progress with route checking on the ground across WA and from the WA Border to Broken Hill in NSW. Barry Lloyd and his mate Andrew have had another productive visit to the section south of Marvel Loch to Lake King as the photos posted on Facebook showed. We do know that the route is accessible with a bit of work to make the roads trafficable. Local Council negotiations are taking place to hopefully have the “gnarly” bits repaired and maybe a quick clearance of fallen trees. If the work is too much we have options in play to get us through. In early November when the SA border finally opened we made a dash to Border Village on the WA border and back to Broken Hill to check out the sections and meet with local dignitaries and property owners along the route. The 186Kms of the Old Eyre Highway is accessible from Border Village to Nullabor Roadhouse and negotiations are occurring with the Yalata Community to access the road through their Native Lands. The approval obtained previously from FWCAC in Ceduna proved to be invalid.
