[email protected]) Cir.No.31 / 2020 27th August, 2020 To All the Zonal/Divisional/State/Regional Units Dear Comrades, Re: Campaign against LIC IPO picks up momentum The Secretariat of AIIEA that met through video conferencing on 2nd August 2020 decided to intensify the agitation on the issue of listing of LIC and its disinvestment. The Secretariat called upon our units to meet Members of Parliament, Chief Ministers of States and heads of political parties all over India and seek their support to our struggle. Subsequently, the Joint Front of Unions consisting of AIIEA, Federation of LIC Class I Officers’ Associations and NFIFWI that met through video conferencing on 5th August 2020 took similar decisions. Following these calls, our units have started the campaign in right earnest. Our comrades of Udumalai Branch under Coimbatore division met Shri Shanmugasundaram, MP (DMK), Pollachi Constituency, and hand over our union's letter seeking his co-operation to protect LIC in Public Sector. He assured that he will give his voice against the Govt move on listing LIC's share in Stock Exchange. Our comrades of Bhopal Division met Congress MP (Rajya Sabha) Sri Digvijay Singh and handed over the Shri Digvijay Singh, RS, Congress (Bhopal) memorandum. Bhopal Comrades talked to BJP MP from Bhopal Lok Sabha Constituency Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur through video conferencing and apprised her of the pernicious impact of LIC disinvestment. Comrades of Raipur Division (CZIEA) met Smt. Chhaya Verma, Rajya Sabha MP (Congress) and submitted the memorandum.
