Kalamazoo's men's tennis team won its 54th consecutive Location: Kalamazoo, Michigan lS crown, while the volleyball team won its second straight MIAA title. Hornet teams also captured Founded: 1833 firsts in women's tennis and men's and women's soccer. Enrollment: 1,271 President: Dr. Lawrence Bryan Nickname: Hornets Kalamazoo continued to lead the MIAA in all-time team championships, increasing its cumulative Conference: Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association total to 219 during the 1991-92 school year. The runner-up league institution has won 153 team titles. National Affiliation: NCAA Division III lS Team Colors: Orange and Black The men's tennis team won an unprecedented sixth NCAA Division III championship in May, defeating the University of California-Santa Cruz in the finals. Lewis Miller won the Division III lS singles title for the second straight year, becoming the first player in Division III history to win back­ to-hack singles championships. Other teams qualifying for post-season competition were volleyball & and women's soccer. The volleyball team was ranked third in the nation and the women's soccer Fall Athletic Staff Phone Directory* squad was ranked sixth in the final poll.
