NEWS LETTER Vol. Fifteen, No. Four May 2010 Class of 2010 lives the Prep ‘Graduate at Graduation Profile’ The accomplishments of the class of 2010 are plentiful. The Profile of the Graduate at Graduation is used to help prepare the young men to be active participants in the church and the local community in service of others. Here is a sampling of the achievements of the class of 2010 as they learned to live the values of the profile: Open to Growth, Academically Competent, Loving, Religious and Committed to Doing Justice. Open to Growth - Thai-Son Vu was awarded the Sullivan Award for his leadership, fellowship, and scholarship. The band scored their 24nd straight Superior District Music honor . Academically Competent - Prep was represented this year by these National Merit Finalists: William Coover, Nicholas Davis, Thomas Gilgenast, Nicholas Jesse, Christopher Molini, Mitchell Nohner, Andrew North, William Phelps, Nicklaus Schwaller, Wyatt Troia, and Thai-Son Vu. Commended students are Gregory Beaufait, Daniel Christensen, Jonathan Olson, Samuel Tvrdik, Lucas Vetter, and Christian Warneke. Over 130 seniors earned scholarships totaling more than 15 million dollars. Nick Davis and Thomas Gilgenast were selected as Academic All Staters by the Omaha World Herald. Religious More than 180 seniors participated in the optional Prep senior retreat. Seniors lived the profile by planning and exhibiting high attendance at weekly masses and participated as Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist. Many seniors helped lead Junior Encounter and the Freshman Retreat experiences. Mike Pitner and J.D. Squire led the Freshman Retreat group leaders. The Campus Ministry Advisory Board presented Josh Gredys and Tom Madsen the Juan de Planco, S.J. Award, and Adam Kaftan, the Jeronimo Nadal, S.J. its highest honors for service to the religious dimension of Prep. Loving- To help freshmen adjust to their new school setting, over 100 seniors assumed roles as Big Brothers. Matt Franco, Tim Gregg, and Seph Lang served as chairs of this organization. Jack Clauff, Will Coover, Brian Delaney, Sean Everson, Evan Healey, Charlie Krolikowski, Paul Schulte, and Stephen Sudyka were committee members.
