2011 GIVING REPORT The donors of the Omaha Community Foundation believe in us. In our first year of fundraising for the Let Good Grow campaign, we successfully reached our goal of $359,000. Their gifts demonstrate the confidence they have in us and in our strategic vision. That kind of support is invaluable to us. The Omaha Community Foundation is made up of a community of over 1000 donors who have collectively given over $787 million to more than 3000 charitable organizations since our inception in 1982. Our family of donors has given over $1 billion in gifts to the Foundation. We serve 9 county community foundations in Southwest Iowa that are affiliated with the Foundation. For nine years, we have been nationally recognized in the Philanthropy 400.     A STUDY OF THE IDENTIFICATION OF CORE CONTENT OF TECHNICAL COURSES IN THREE ALLIED HEALTH TECHNOLOGIES Peggy Ann Bensman A Dissertation Submitted to the Graduate School of Bowling Green State University in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY March 1975 BOWLING GREEN STATE UNIVERSITY LIBRARY il ABSTRACT The study was undertaken to determine if there were a common core of content included in the technical courses of dental hygiene programs at the certificate or associate degree level and nursing and radiologic technology programs at the associate degree level. The study also ascertained whether there were possible additions or deletions to content that was being taught in these programs. The information was obtained through a questionnaire survey which was sent to the directors of all of the three types of programs in the United States. Five levels were used to determine the amount of emphasis placed on each item of content. Two cores of common con­ tent were identified: core A which included content on which 75% or more of the respondents placed average or greater emphasis and core B which included content on which 51% or more of the respondents placed average or more emphasis . Thirty-two items of content were analyzed as to whether they were common to two or three of the programs under investigation. The findings revealed that seventeen items of content were common to the three programs at the core A level and twenty-three at the core B level. Six were common to two programs at the core A level and eight at the core B level.

    AN EQUATION FOR SUCCESS: $10 MILLION GIFT, PLUS OUTSTANDING SCIENCE PROGRAMS, EQUALS INFINITE POSSIBILITIES P30 FALL 2017 FALL Volume 33 Issue 3 33 Issue Volume Message from the President A Time of Community and Thanksgiving n this annual season of thanksgiving, I am indeed grateful for our supportive alumni and friends, dedicated faculty and staff, and exceptionally talented students. Our University continues to attract record numbers of students, receive national recognition for academic excellence, and engender tremendous support from our alumni and donors. In September, we announced a transformational $10 million gift from longtime Creighton friends and supporters George Haddix, PhD, MA’66, and his wife, Susan, to build and Ienhance academic programming in the College of Arts and Sciences. I am thankful for George and Susan’s generous commitment to Creighton, and excited about the many opportunities it will offer our students and faculty. I am also grateful for our spirit of community on campus, which lifts us up in hopefulness and comforts us in times of tragedy. At the beginning of the academic year, we gathered in prayer and support after a four-vehicle crash claimed the life of one of our bright, young students, and injured three others. An alumna traveling in a separate car also was injured. Joan Ocampo-Yambing, the 19-year-old computer science major from Rosemount, Follow me: Minnesota, who died in the collision, was remembered on campus as a bright light, a @CreightonPres loving friend, and an outstanding student. She is greatly missed. CreightonPresident We also mourned the passing of several faculty and staff, along with two former members of our Board of Trustees.

Nevertheless, expositions are illustrative of man’s progress and development. There is hardly a more striking example of this fact than the Trans-Mississippi and International Exposition held at Omaha, Nebraska, in 1898. * Since the frontier had been pronounced as closed only a few years before, it was fitting that the trans-Mississippi region display its wealth as well as its capabilities. Omaha was fortunate to be the host city for an exposition that symbolized the progress of the West. The city benefited greatly, being infused with an economic and spiritual uplift at a most opportune time. The primary objective of this thesis is to present a comprehensive description of the Trans- Mississippi Exposition, In doing so, however, I will also analyze its success and attempt to place it in its historical perspective.     2014 GIVING REPORT It’s no surprise to us, our donors and the giving community are among the most generous in the nation - and they made 2014 an incrdible year! The donors working through the Omaha Community Foundation had a record year. They gave over $173 million to nonprofits which ranked 5th in the nation for most generous among community foundation donors. That level of giving surpassed community foundations in Chicago, New York, and Boston according to the annual report published by CF Insights. Another important milestone for the Foundation was achieved this year. We surpassed $1 billion in assets which make us the 17th largest community foundation nationally. In addition, this was a record year for people joining our family of donors – 159 accounts were opened in 2014. These milestones and record level of growth are important today, but it also means that there will continue to be community investment in our nonprofits long into the future. Our donors love this community and continue to find more ways to make it the best it can be. We exist to help them accomplish those hopes and dreams. Our community’s future is bright. The Omaha Community Foundation connects people who care about our community with the people and nonprofits who are doing the most good here. Over $1.2 billion has been granted to nonprofits on behalf of our donors. And since 1982, our family of over 1,300 donors has given over $1.6 billion to charitable giving accounts at the Omaha Community Foundation. Much has been accomplished, but we are ready to do more.
