The objective of the project was “Development & Analysis of Innovative Hybrid Composites” for suitable application in the fields of Bio-Medical, Aerospace & Automotive Industries. The work included to study the wear behavior of the composite material in its dry condition using a pin on disc machine at the various speeds and loading conditions. Characterization of worn samples was carried out using scanning electron microscope,& Confocal microscope. Prediction studies using analytical concepts was carried out to compare with the experimental work. A great degree of concurrence was observed between experimental and analytical results. Funded Project Title: Design and Fabrication of Smart Wheel Funded by: Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme of Government of India (TEQIP) Amount Sanctioned : INR 80,000 Status: Completed The objective of this project was to design a prototype of wheel. The wheel acts as propulsion system and carries the entire load of the automobile. The concepts of quantum levitation and axial flux motor was used and wheel was designed according to it and further a prototype of the same was fabricated. The primary goal and focus was to showcase an alternative for the present transmission systems. The wheel must perform two primary functions firstly to carry load and secondly Propulsion to entire Page 4 / 5 Curriculum vitae Nirupama Mohan mass acting on it. To achieve load carrying capacity the principles of quantum levitation was used, and for propulsion can be achieved by using axial flux motor principles. Since there is no physical contact between moving parts there is completely eliminated contact friction. Publications JOURNAL PUBLICATIONS- INTERNATIONAL ▪ C.S. Ramesh, A.C.
