July, I love this month! Corn on the cob, green beans with potatoes, the nice tan you get pulling weeds, weeds, weeds after so much rain! But tonight we are going to have fun and enjoy our guest and each other. This is a week I always look forward to - Quilters Hall of Fame Celebration week! Everyone is excited for our Honoree Ruth McDowell and her family is so happy...it is such a special time and we have such great teachers giving wonderful classes and lectures. There will be many quilts on display, ven- dors to shop from and fun events. It always inspires and motivates me to do more and I hope that is what you feel when you come to our meeting - inspired and motivated and run- ning home to sew and create and above all to share! See you at Celebration! Proud to serve as Leader of the Pack, Sherry What’s Happening EBONY LOVE EVENTS Tonight? Sherry welcomed members and we had 1 new member, Anita McDaniels daughter Brenda. With Brenda’s addition it makes 3 gen- erations of quilters. The hostesses for June were Sharon McElfresh, Ann Shafer and Gykala Jones. They did a wonderful job, the tables and decorations were beautiful, and it goes without saying the food was great! Donna Hartman told us about an upcoming workshop with Ebony Love, a nationally known quilter and designer. Cost of the workshop is $25.00 and will be held July 15 at the McElfresh estate. Sign up will be held at the July meeting, which is the second Monday of July to coordinate with celebration and Ebony Love’s visit. The workshop is called Hopscotch Block Party and the evening star members will be the test market. Speaking of The Quilters Hall of Fame Celebration, Sherry told the members that Arnold Savage will be there all day on July 19th. There were lots of show and tell, some from Connie Combs workshop and 17 out of the box challenge pieces. They were all great! Sharon Liptow won the prize for regular show and tell and Donna Hartman won the drawing for out of the box challenge. Coming events include Shipshewana Quilt Festival and Shop Hop, June 25 - 28th and our own Linda Lupton will be teaching a class. Quilters Hall of Fame classes are filling up so hurry and get your reservations in so you don’t miss out. Marie Webster quilt guild has invited us to enter quilts to show at the event. For more info contact Sherry McConnell. The July meeting will be held back at the Church, and will be a week early, on July 14. See you all there.
