Joint Petition to Participate of the Mpaa-Represented Program Suppliers Before the COPYRIGHT ROYALTY JUDGES Washington, D.C. p6 2015 In the Matter of Docket No. 14-CRB-0010-CD (2013) Distribution of the 2013 Cable Royalty Funds Rcccived JUL ij 6 2015 JOINT PETITION TO PARTICIPATE OF THE MPAA-REPRESENTED PROGRAM SUPPLIERS Pursuant to the notice published in the Federal Register atmouncing the commencement of a distribution proceeding regarding the 2013 cable royalty funds ("2013 Proceeding") and requesting petitions to participate from interested parties, 80 Fed. Reg. 32182 (June 5, 2015) ("Notice"), the Motion Picture Association of America, Inc. ("MPAA"), its member companies and other producers and distributors of syndicated series, movies, specials, and non-team sports broadcast by television stations and retransmitted by cable systems who have agreed to representation by MPAA ("MPAA-represented Program Suppliers"),'ereby petition the Copyright Royalty Judges ("Judges") to participate in both Phase I and Phase II of the 2013 Proceeding, as required by 37 C.F.R. $ 351.1(b)(2)(ii). Historically, at the Phase I level of each royalty year's distribution proceeding, MPAA has represented the interests of all Program Suppliers. MPAA intends to represent those same interests in Phase I of the 2013 Proceeding. 'he definitions of the "Program Suppliers" and other Phase I program categories were adopted by the Phase I parties in a prior proceeding and continue to be followed by the parties. See Joint Motion Of The Phase I Parties To Adopt Stipulation As To Claimant Group Categorization And Scope Of Claims, Docket No. 2007-3 CRB CD 2004- 2005 at Exhibit A (October 2, 2009). 6923119.2/43507-00075 In Phase II of the 2013 Proceeding, MPAA will represent the MPAA-represented Program Suppliers exclusively. The MPAA-represented Program Suppliers for each cable royalty year at issue are identified in Attachment A hereto. MPAA reserves the right to amend its list ofrepresented participants as such amendments may be necessary and legally permissible. As of the date of this Joint Petition to Participate, MPAA and its undersigned counsel certify that they have the authority and consent of each of the parties listed on Attachment A to represent them in the 2013 Proceeding. As copyright owners of the majority of programming broadcast on stations whose signals were carried by cable systems as distant signals in the year 2013, the MPAA-represented Program Suppliers have a significant interest in the subject matter of the 2013 Proceeding, and request that this Joint Petition to Participate in both Phase I and Phase II of the 2013 Proceeding be granted. As required by the Judges'egulations and the Notice, MPAA-represented Program Suppliers have attached a check with their $ 150 filing fee. See 37 C.F.R. g 351.1(b)(4); Notice at 32182-83. CONCLUSION For the foregoing reasons, the Judges should grant the MPAA-represented Program Suppliers'oint petition to participate in the 2013 Proceeding. MPAA is also submitting an electronic copy ofAttachment A as a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. The electronic copy ofAttachment A is included on the CD ROM that accompanies this filing. The "Claim Type" designation on Attachment A identifies claimants filing joint claims with "J," claimants listed within joint claims with "W," and claimants filing individual claims with "I." 6923 I l9.2/43507-00075 Respectfully submitted, Dated: July 6, 2015 Gregory O. It’s the special company that delivers in a bad economic environment. At a time when the U.S. has been weighed down by its slowest recovery since the Great Depression, when Europe’s currency threatens its union and, I might add when our critics flood the field with stories that refuse to move beyond the misdeeds at two of our papers in Britain, I am delighted to report something about News Corporation you Rupert Murdoch, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer might not know from the headlines: News Corporation In 2012, for the second year in a row, we have brought our stockholders double-digit growth in total segment operating income. FOR THE SECOND We accomplished this because we do not consider ourselves a conventional YEAR IN A ROW, company.

www.cablefaxdaily.com, Published by Access Intelligence, LLC, Tel: 301-354-2101 Cablefax DailyTM Tuesday — November 20, 2018 What the Industry Reads First Volume 29 / No. 224 Franchise Fees: LFAs Sweating Proposed FCC Changes Cities, towns and public access channels have flooded theFCC with comments on a proposed rulemaking that seeks to include cable-related, in-kind contributions in the definition of franchise fees. The fees are the monies paid for using rights of way to provide service. Under the new definition, in-kind contributions would include things such as unlimited free or discounted cable services for Local Franchise Authorities (LFAs) . Thus those contributions would be subject to the statutory 5% franchise fee cap. While cable’s an obvious fan of the move, franchises, wary of losing money or services, aren’t. “The Commission’s proposals violate the plain language of the statute which authorizes LFAs to both collect franchise fees and to impose franchise requirements on cable operators,” said a joint filing from a number of players, including the cities of Atlanta, Dallas and Boston. Public access channels are concerned that the proposal deems non-capital Public, Educational & Governmental requirements as franchise fees. “Such an action would deci- mate our ability to provide services to our community,” said PhillyCAM, the nonprofit that operates the City of Phila- delphia’s public access TV. The FCC’s Second Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking, which makes these tentative conclusions, was adopted 4-0 in September. It addresses issues raised in July after the US Sixth Circuit vacated parts of FCC decisions that had limited the ability of LFAs to regulate non-cable services provided over a mixed use cable system and nixed LFAs imposing non-monetary assessments on cable ops.

Story: This book chronicles the He-Man newspaper comics from beginning to end. Characters: He- Man is in reality Prince Adam, with the secret ability to transform. He saves the day with the help of his friends, not just with brawn but with brains. Language: Very 80's dialogue. Full of cheesy lines and some morals. Contains suggestive adult content, but also appropriate reading for younger readers. While a lot of the dialogue with women is very sexist, women pl 80's. While a lot of the dialogue with women is very sexist, women play strong roles in the book and are often the heroes. A fun leap backwards in time, a nice distraction from my normal reading. Took some time to read because the book is so physically big it often causes cricks in my neck so I had to take lots of breaks! Dec 31, Vladimir rated it really liked it.
