Welcome You can buy single tickets (i.e. valid for one journey) on all of our services. We also provide you with many opportunities to reduce travel costs by offering return* and season tickets. Look in this booklet and find the ticket that suits your needs. Currently tickets have to be purchased from the driver using cash. The only exception is when our blue Thorpe Park buses are used. These buses accept contactless payments up to £30. For the present all passengers on our routes must ensure they always have cash with them. Please note that we cannot accept any Oystercards, including 60+ Oystercards or Travelcards on our services. Child fares apply from a child’s fifth birthday. We have a varied range of tickets to suit all needs. Whenever possible please have the correct fare available as it saves time and will quicken your journey.

Single fares. The cost of these vary depending upon the distance travelled. Our most expensive adult single fare is £5 and the lowest is £1 and you can save money with a return ticket if you are making a return trip on the same day or with a season ticket if you are a regular traveller.

Day return fares These are available at any time of day for all single fares except for certain buses designed primarily for schools where only single and season tickets are available. Day returns are priced at approximately one and a half times the single fare and therefore save about 25% of the cost of two single fares.

* Return tickets are not available on most home to school services to Queens’; JFS; St Michael’s; Chancellors; Nicholas Breakspear & Dame Alice Owen’s Schools. See individual route/school leaflets at www.sullivanbuses.com for full details.

Children under 5 years of age travel free when accompanied by an adult (maximum of three children per adult). Children from ages 5 and higher must pay a fare on our buses as follows:- Ages 5 to 11 – child fare (generally half the adult fare). No proof of age needed. Age 11 to 19 – single and return child fares (generally half the adult fare) are available on production of a Herts Savercard, obtainable from Hertfordshire County Council. Otherwise the adult fare is payable. http://www.hertsdirect.org/savercard. A Savercard is not normally required to purchase child rate season tickets from the driver. However the Savercard provides proof of entitlement to purchase child rate tickets and is especially useful for those aged 16 and over who no longer wear school uniform. The onus is on the person purchasing a child priced ticket to demonstrate their entitlement to the driver. Any child 11 and over purchasing single or return tickets must show a currently valid Savercard 5 and tap it into the ticket machine to enable the driver to issue a child priced ticket. Please note that if at any time (for example at the end of a school term or half term) your child will by buying tickets each day they will have to pay adult prices unless they have a Savercard. Those aged 11 to 19 living outside of Hertfordshire and who attend schools or colleges in the County and travel by may apply for a Sullivan Buses FareSaverCard costing £20 per academic year at www.hertfordshireschoolservices.co.uk.
