WVEC TELEVISION AND CHARTER REACH TENTATIVE RETRANSMISSION AGREEMENT

Norfolk, – WVEC Television, Inc. announced today that it has reached an agreement in principle with Charter Communications Inc. (NASDAQ: CHTR) for retransmission of the station’s analog and high-definition signals. “We are pleased to have come to a tentative agreement with Charter and we look forward to continuing to provide WVEC’s high-quality news and local programming uninterrupted to our viewers,” said Jim Berman, WVEC’s President and General Manager. WVEC Television, Inc. is part of Corp. NYSE: BLC), one of the nation’s largest pure- play, publicly-traded television companies. The agreement covers signals in 11 of Belo’s 15 markets including the following stations: KMOV-TV in St. Louis; WFAA-TV in /Fort Worth; WWL-TV and WUPL-TV in , WCNC-TV in Charlotte; KGW-TV in Portland; WVEC-TV in Hampton/Norfolk; KING-TV and KONG-TV in /Tacoma; KREM-TV and KSKN-TV in Spokane; KHOU-TV in Houston; KTVB in Boise; and, WHAS-TV in Louisville. The agreement also covers carriage of two of the Company’s 24-hour new channels, and Texas Cable News.
