To all Hello sparkling November! Autumn is a second spring, where every leaf is a flower. November celebrates The World Vegan Day, National Donut Appreciation Day, Hug a Bear day, Forget-Me-Not Day, World Kindness ✓ Concept Day Day, National Pickle Day, National Button Day, National Cake Day, etc. ✓ Diwali Celebrations November has left all of us with lot of memories to cherish upon. It has ✓ Childrens Day been a happy, jubilant and celebration spirited month with festival and concept day. All the children were involved in concept day dance. Children not only enjoyed dancing but learned to follow the instructions, work with their team and synchronize with the music. Practically, they learned teamwork. Nursery Nursery has introduced ‘a’ sound two letter combinations to the children with letters ‘t, ’n’ and ‘p’ in the form of a story of friends to form ‘at’,’an’ and ‘ap’. For example – ‘a’ was playing in a park alone singing a,aa,a…a. After some time ‘a’ got bored . Then his friend ‘t’ came to play singing t,tt,t…t with ‘a’ . As they were friends they held their hands to form “at” two letter combination. Similarly, ‘at’ and ‘ap’. In Numeracy – Backward counting from 10 to 0 was introduced by narrating a story in which hen, duck, frog wanted to cross the pond with the help of the stones that had numbers written from 1 to 10. But as they reached 10 they saw a lion sitting there and jumped back from 10 to 0. 3 Prep The most awaited Diwali holidays came to an end. Children were excited to share their experience and joy after the holidays. Though, the academics was started the practice for the CONCEPT DAY took the lead with lot of enthusiasm and excitement. The paradise block celebrated an extravagant concept day – Quidditch, values and culture in sports. Every performance had a message to convey by the tiny tots of the age 3-6 years. Few performances were unique such as Cycle drill, that spoke about introducing a fourth traffic signal purple, which indicates to put the mobiles away, which gave food for our thoughts, Live Chess, Haritha - Haram depicted the current scenario of deforestation and the need for afforestation. Pure entertaining performances like the Ball Dance, Minion Dance, Ribbon Dance, Planet Dance, Barbie dance were like the icing on the cake. There was a lot to take home from the event at the end of the day. It was a power packed event with a value and a message with social responsibility. 4 Diwali festival is celebrated in India by all the communities with great pomp and show. The Hindus celebrate Diwali, as it marks the return of Lord Rama to Ayodhya, after an exile of fourteen years and defeating the cruel demon king, Ravana. The tiny tots of Pre-Nursery went on a rally of “Say NO to Crackers” with posters on their uniforms and explained the adverse affects of burning crackers to Principal ma’am. On the occasion of “Diwali”, craft paper Diyas were decorated and distributed to all the children by respective class teachers. Children’s Day also called “Bal Diwas” is commemorated to the birthday of our first Prime Minister Jawahar lal Nehru ji. He loved children a lot, so children used to call him “Chacha Nehru”. Government has launched a programme “Bal Swachch Abhiyaan” to increase awareness among people, the rights, education, wellness and safety of children. HAPPY CHILDREN’S DAY!!! to each one of us as every adult has a child inside them. Children of Paradise block enjoyed Children’s day with dance, activities and information about why Children’s Day is celebrated, in a common assembly. 5 I will … 1.) Shirts /Pants See you soon with more jingling sparkling updates and facts, in our next newsletter. 7 REPORT FOR THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER 2018 CLASS I & II ACADEMICS: As planned for the month KIDS SPECTRUM: This year the showcasing for Kids Spectrum included Co-scholastic activities apart from regular subjects. The 100% participation in all the sections covered a wide range of concept topics in English, Maths, Science and Languages. We also had a presentations in Yoga, Skating, PET, Karate and Dance, Music, Art. This was a wonderful platform for the children to conduct the entire show. Parents were extremely appreciative and also participated in parental activities. KIDS SPECTRUM-2018 was a grand success. 8 SPECIAL ASSEMBLIES: CHILDREN’S DAY: Teachers sang, danced and performed a skit to make the day memorable for the little ones. TRANSPORTATION DAY: To create awareness about the Importance of transport in our lives, a special assembly was conducted using MIME as a tool for presentation 9 LIBRARY WEEK:The Renowned story teller Ms. Priyanka Chatterjee mesmerized the group of students by narrating tales where she dramatized and used every part of her body to make the characters of her story come alive. Students immensely enjoyed every moment of the event. A special assembly was also conducted as part of the Library Week celebrations where characters from fairy tales came alive and spoke about their experiences. 10 THANKS GIVING: Class-2 celebrated a special Thanks Giving day where students paid rich tributes to their mothers. There was parental participation and it was touching to observe that mothers present were over whelmed with emotion. DIWALI CELEBRATIONS:Apart from the normal assembly procedure and the skit, song and dance, children spoke about the safety measures to be implemented during Diwali time. 11 NEWS READING COMPETITION: 28th November Students participated with zeal and enthusiasm. They were assessed on the basis of their articulation, intonation, presentation and clarity of voice. CCE ACTIVITIES: Activities to Enhance Academic Learning EVS Activity: First- Aid Kit making activity was done where in students were told to get the essentials to make a First-Aid Kit. Healthy food vs Junk food: 12th November- Balanced diet is important for the development of every child. This activity helped the child to identify the different kinds of food available and their uses Make your shower: 13th November- An amazing way to understand the properties of air. Students learned about the fact that air exerts pressure by doing a small experiment outside their classroom. 12 Math Activity: Measurement-20th November This was a fun filled activity which gave the children an opportunity to learn measurements. They measured the pictures of pencil, table, book and candle of different sizes and wrote the length of each item in their notebooks. Array station: 12th November- An easy way to comprehend multiplication Students along with teacher played games using dice and made colourful patterns to make the concepts of multiplications easier for students. English Activity: Verb: 19th November This was a simple picture activity to reinforce that every sentence needs a verb or an action word. The activity helped them to build sentences while sticking pictures in their classwork books. 13 Adverbs: 9th November A simple game of “DRIBLING OF THE BALL” was played where the teacher passed the ball to students giving them a verb and asking them to add an appropriate adverb. Language Activity: Flower Identification: A colourful flower activity was performed where the children identified different flowers and wrote the Telugu names of the flowers in their notebooks Describing words: A fun way to learn describing words where students were asked to draw fruits and describe them 14 Curricular and Co-curricular report for the month of November 2018 Class –III & IV PERFORMING AND VISUAL ART STUDENT LED CONFERENCE Student Led Conference for classes III, IV, which translates as a classroom Artistic exhibition wherein the students showcase before their parents their learning outcomes and curricular and co-curricular developments of the year.SLC is conducted along the lines of a Parent Teacher Meeting wherein the parents visit only their child’s section and take pride in their learning .The purpose of this conference (SLC) is to reflect on the child’s growth in various aspects and skills along with learning this year.
