Technician

The Pharmacy Technician program is a 3-year Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) Approved Completer Program of Study that prepares students to meet the demands of the 21st century with a rigorous academic curriculum, while exposing them to the varied career paths and opportunities available in the Health & Biosciences industry. Pharmacy technicians are critical members of the healthcare team and are essential to providing with safe and effective therapy. A pharmacy technician works closely with and other healthcare professionals in diverse settings such as , clinics, and community . Technicians perform vital functions to support the care efforts of the pharmacy team with roles and responsibilities that continue to expand and evolve. Licensure Students take a National Certification Exam (ExCPT or PTCB) in order to become certified pharmacy technicians. Passing this national certification exam, along with meeting the Maryland state requirements for pharmacy technicians, will enable them to work as a pharmacy technician in all Maryland pharmacies, Program of Study as well as pharmacies across the country.
