BPCL revamps Budge Budge Installation; inaugurates multiproduct line from jetty in

 Revamped at a cost of Rs 167 crore, Budge Budge Installation plays an important role in meeting the demand of petroleum products in the eastern region.  State of Art Multiproduct Pipeline from Haldia Oil Jetty of Shyamaprasad Mukherjee Port to BPCL’s Haldia coastal installation will cost Rs 97 crore.  Company aims to expand market share to 30% from current 27% by commissioning 400 new retail outlets in eastern region in the coming year.

Kolkata, 17th March 2021: Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), a ‘Maharatna’ and a Fortune Global 500 Company today inaugurated revamped ‘Budge Budge Installation’ and multiproduct line from Haldia jetty to BPCL’s coastal installation in Kolkata. Both the facilities will be inaugurated by Mr. PS Ravi Executive Director (Retail) I/C shortly. The revamp of Budge Budge Installation, which plays an important role in meeting the demand of petroleum products in the eastern region was undertaken at a cost of Rs 167 crore; while the pipeline from Haldia oil jetty to BPCL’s coastal installation was completed at an outlay of Rs 97 crore.

Commenting on the inauguration, Shri P.S. Ravi, Executive Director (Retail) I/C, BPCL said, “We are delighted to announce that the inauguration of the new multiproduct line and the revamped project of the Budge Budge installation will be done shortly on 17th/18th March 2021. The new pipeline will help in fulfilling the growing demand of petroleum products in the eastern region and it will enable safer and faster unloading of Tankers at rates of 1400 to 1900 KL per hour. Similarly, revamp of Budge Budge installation will help us in storing and transferring a wide range of petroleum products to hinterland depots.”

BPCL has presence of 2738 retail outlets in Eastern Region which is spread over 12 states and have so far commissioned nearly 300 new retail outlets this year. The Company is planning to add around 400 more retail outlets in the coming year with an objective of increasing the market share to 30% in both MS (Motor Spirit) and HSD (High Speed Diesel) from current 27%. The Company has also planned to increase its presence in the eastern region through 500 FINO outlets and also launching Pure For Sure (PFS) NextGen facilities in Bhubaneshwar, Ranchi, Patna, Guwahati and .

The company currently has Sales of about 1.4 Million KL of MS and 3.2 Million KL of HSD per annum. There are 14 supply points with BPCL in Eastern Region. As a part of growth in the north-east region, BPCL aims at adding 4 one-stop-truck shops (OSTS) and 4 company-owned

and company-operated retail outlets (COCOs) in the coming year from the current 20 OSTS and 15 COCOs. The SmartDrive facility is operating in 200 retail outlets (ROs) and being added in 500 more over next year. In and Out Zip store are at 34 ROs and shall be expanded to 200. Door to Door delivery of HSD operating at 51 major retail outlets are expected to be expanded to 100 in the coming year. Quick Oil change service for 2 wheelers is being already provided at 750 ROs and being expanded. Under Bharat Aarogya Yojana implemented for Driveway Salesmen (DSM) and Driveway Sales women (DSW) working at BPCL retail outlets, 22500 have been enrolled in last two years. This will have both; life and medical insurance and it covers the employee’s family also.
