Annie Jane Adams (Mary) – Sherlock Holmes: The Adventure of the Priory School is Annie Adams’ fifth show with Theatre Rocks! Her favorite show she has been in is An Orphan’s Adventure as the character of “Penelope the Pig.” Annie loves theatre, writing, sleeping, and spending time with friends (and her cat!). She hopes that she can act in many more plays in the future, especially at

Charlene Andrews (Edith White—April 24) – Charlene has been part of the Theatre Rocks! family for nine years now, either on stage, helping backstage, or working the lights/sound board. Her first time on stage was under the direction of Bill Rhoten in the role of “Beth Bailey” in ’Til Beth Do Us Part in 2012. Other roles include “Geneva Musgrave” in Christmas Belles, “Viney” in The Miracle Worker, “The Sheriff” in A Bad Year for

Tomatoes, “The Queen” in Cinderella, “Flick” in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, "Nursemaid" in Sleeping Beauty, and “Ignis” in An

Orphan’s Adventure. She loves animals, wind chimes, swimming, working outside, and collecting baskets and ANYTHING made out of wood or stone!

Jacquelyn Bailey (Margaret/featured singer) – Jacquelyn, age 13, is excited to perform in Sherlock Holmes with her friends. Besides acting, Jaci also loves singing, playing the piano, crafting, and hanging out with her friends. Her favorite roles she has played are “Becky” (A Little Princess), “Alice” (Alice in Wonderland), “Scrooge” (Scrooge), and Musical Fairy (An Orphan’s Adventure). She is thankful to her mom, dad, God, and her friends

Abigail, Julia, and Grace for being big supporters in this play.

Cast Biographies

Simon Bailey (Master Heidegger/Servant) – Simon is thrilled with his unique role in this detective story. Simon’s past roles have included “Jordo” in An Orphan’s Adventure, “Captain Hook” in Peter

Pan, and “Michael Scott” in The Classroom. Simon is skilled in writing, typing with his nose, and accidentally doxing his friend Corbin online. Simon would like to thank Alan, Tony, Oscarr, Morgan,

Toby, Lord A., and Filesto (keep doing what you’re doing, bucko). He hopes you enjoy the show.

Ethan Binder (Constable Bertram Dodd) – Ethan is an 18-year-old senior at Great Hearts Irving. This is his first appearance at Theatre Rocks!, but he has been in productions of The Taming of the Shrew and Twelfth Night. Ethan likes Shakespeare and aspires to be a film director.

Gideon Binder (Officer Jackson) – Gideon is a 16- year-old homeschooled student. This is his first play at Theatre Rocks! It is also his first play at an actual theatre, and he is very excited to be in it. His hobbies include writing and building anything from Lego models to catapults and robots.

Aaron Brazell (Thaddeus Fenwick) – Aaron is an enthusiastic 13-year-old, seventh-grade home- schooled student. He was recently seen as "Ben Osborn" in Bill Rhoten's My Favorite Christmas (2020). He played “Pig Boy” in An Orphan’s

Adventure, directed by Rebecca Perry. He also played “Wayne Jackson” in Bill Rhoten’s 2018 Christmas production of Where’s Santa? and “Mr. Carrisford’s nephew” in A Little Princess. Some of his hobbies include playing outside with his dogs

Midnight and Twilight, drawing, riding his bike, and spending time with his siblings. Aaron is excited to be acting again!

Abigail Brazell (Nan/featured singer) – Abigail is a 16-year-old student currently taking dual-credit classes at Navarro College and is an employee at Chick-fil-A. This is her fifth production with Theatre Rocks! Her past productions include Cinderella (2016) (“Young Agnes”/Dancer), A Little Princess (2019) (“Rosalind”), An Orphan’s Adventure (2020) (“Silly Girl”/Fairy Dancer), and the world premiere of Bill Rhoten's Life's Little

Miracles (2021) ("Rita Masters"). She also helped backstage with sound and lighting tech for Bill Rhoten’s My Favorite Christmas (2020). In her free time, Abigail enjoys writing music, playing her ukulele and piano, and recording her original songs. She just recently released her first single "God Sees" on all platforms! She is super excited to be once again back on stage at Theatre Rocks! She would like to thank the Lord and Mrs. Perry for the opportunity to act in this play!

Jonathan Brazell (Officer Lewis) – Jonathan is a senior in high school currently taking dual-credit classes at Navarro College. This is Jonathan's fourth and final production at Theatre Rocks! His past credits include “Guard”/”Ballroom Dancer” in Cinderella, “Doll Merchant”/“Servant James” in A Little Princess and “Highwayman” in An Orphan’s Adventure. In his free time, Jonathan works at Chick-fil-A in Ennis, and he enjoys playing the piano and yo-yoing. He plans to attend Harding University in Arkansas this fall studying Electronic Media Production.

Shiloh Brazell (Shelta/featured dancer and singer) – Shiloh is an 11-year-old homeschooler. This is her fourth production at Theatre Rocks! Her past appearances here include Cinderella (“Young Cinderella”), A Little Princess (“Last Doll”/ “Melchizedek”/Little Girl), and An Orphan’s Adventure (Fairy Dancer). In her free time, you can find Shiloh doing art projects and dancing. She is a student at Avant Garde Theatre of Dance School in

Ennis. She is thrilled to be back on stage!

Rockey Carter (Dr. Thorneycroft Huxtable) – Rockey is a true lover of the theatre. This will be his first performance at Theatre Rocks!, but he has stage managed Bill Rhoten’s plays at The Core Theatre in Richardson. He has spent the last four years working at The Core starring in The Battle of Blair Mountain, Driving Miss Daisy, Every Night Live, A Reason to Believe, and The Trial of Ebeneezer Scrooge, to name a few. He also likes to help backstage and has taken to assisting with the costuming in the shows at The Core and has enjoyed working in the tech station along with working backstage. Rockey enjoys the interest everyone takes in helping his children grow while participating at shows and thinks we have a great community. Rockey has been involved with theatre and acting from his youth. In college he studied costuming, set design, stage management, and directing. Presently he is in seminary at The Kings University. Rockey currently works as an online engineer. He also runs a drama-based ministry out of local Baruch Ha-Shem Messianic Synagogue. Rockey and his wife Barbara have seven children.

Cast Biographies Roland Carter (James Wilder) – Roland has been involved with multiple productions since his early years. This will be his first performance at Theatre Rocks! He has spent the last four years involved in multiple productions at The Core Theatre in Richardson both on and off stage. He has participated in The Battle of Blair Mountain, Every Night Live, A Reason to Believe, My First Date, Forever, The Trial of Ebeneezer Scrooge, and Tom Sawyer on stage. His backstage credits include being a stage hand in Driving Miss Daisy and stage managing Over the River and Through the Woods. Roland enjoys taking roles whenever he can and when/where ever he is needed. He began with his father’s drama ministry at Baruch Ha-Shem Messianic Synagogue, and the theatre bug bit him hard. He enjoys theatre and the connections he makes while working a show. In his down time Roland is an avid gamer and has a vivid imagination.

Tori Fisher (Stella/choreographer/featured dancer) – Tori is a college student currently attending Navarro College, and she will be attending Texas Tech in the fall. She has been performing with Phoenix Repertory Players for five years, and she is thankful to have been given the opportunity to choreograph Sherlock Holmes: The Adventure of the Priory School. She previously choreographed An Orphan's Adventure and A Little Princess. Some of her previous roles include A Little Princess (“Emily”) and Sleeping Beauty (“Poppy”), as well as performing in various shows at Six Flags Over Texas for the past few years. Tori has been dancing for many years and is passionate about dancing and theatre. She would like to thank her family and friends for their love and support, as well as Ms. Rebecca and the entire cast for making Sherlock Holmes: The Adventure of the Priory School into an amazing production.

Cast Biographies

Samie Jo Green (Fiona) – Samie is a spunky 14- year- old 9th grader who attends Rice High School. She has been seen in Anatomy of Gray as “Tiny Winfield” (2021). She also played “3rd Woman” in Little Match Girl (2020) and “The Boy” in Digging up the Boys (2019). Some of the things she likes to do outside of theatre are cuddle and play with her dog Chico and watch movies with friends.

Julia Hauffe (Luna/featured singer) – Julia originated the role of "The Lady of the Mountain" in last summer's world premiere of An Orphan’s Adventure at Theatre Rocks! She also appeared as "Sara Crewe" in the Theatre Rocks! production of A Little Princess. Julia’s favorite things in life are theatre, music, and art.

Kimberly Koelzer (Vadoma) – Kimberly is pleased to return to the Theatre Rocks! stage. She appeared earlier this season as “Clara O’Brien” in Life’s Little Miracles and as “Jessie Mae" in The Trip to Bountiful. Past roles affiliated with Phoenix Repertory Players include “The Fairy Queen” in Sleeping Beauty and “Miss Amelia” in A Little Princess. Kimberly would like to thank her amazing daughter, Madeleine, for instigating this mad adventure in theatre.

Kelly Kovar (Edith White) – Kelly has performed in the short films “The River” and “Hope,” and appeared in industrial training films and Christian videos. She is currently cast in the upcoming full-length independent film, The Bluesman. She has worked as a set, prop and costume designer, an assistant director, stage manager, and emcee. Kelly has acted in over 30 theatrical plays at venues including The Warehouse Living Arts Center, St. Peter’s Players, Texas Theater, Tabernacle Drama, First Baptist Dallas, Irving High School, Inspiration Inc., Ennis Public Theatre, and Theatre Rocks! She is blessed to be making her fourth appearance in conjunction with Phoenix Repertory Players.

Cast Biographies

Madeleine Makay (Patricia/stage manager)— Madeleine returns to the stage with this her eighth production at Theatre Rocks! She recently played “Sunny” in Life’s Little Miracles, as well as "Laura" in this season’s The Glass Menagerie. She has worked with Rebecca Perry in previous shows (Sleeping Beauty and A Little Princess) and has loved every moment. When not on stage, you can often find Madeleine behind the scenes as stage manager, constructing sets, and any random job that keeps her at the theatre. She would like to thank her parents for supporting her theatre life, and she would like to thank Rebecca for all the hard work she’s done this season.

Grace Martin (Lavinia)—Grace appeared at Theatre Rocks! earlier this season as “Angela Osborn” in My Favorite Christmas. She also was in last summer’s production of An Orphan’s Adventure playing the role of “Hellen.” She has fallen in love with theatre and has played numerous roles in the last four years, filling her life with rehearsals, dance, voice, and awesome friendships.

Samantha Matthews (Anne Bennet) – Samantha is 16 years old and has been doing theatre for just about all her life! She is obsessed with all things art, music, painting and drawing, and of course theatre! She is so grateful to have her dad who drives her and her sister everywhere. “Thanks, Dad!”

Sarah Matthews (Scene-changing Servant) – Sarah is a 14-year-old who loves acting. She was so happy to be able to help out with this play and can’t wait to be in many other plays. She thanks Mrs. Perry for finding a place in the play for her. Sarah loves spending her time painting and hanging out with her friends.

Cast Biographies

Connor Perry (Dr. John Watson)— Connor appeared on the Theatre Rocks! stage last year as “Oak the Orphan” in the world premiere of An Orphan’s Adventure. He is a 16-year-old homeschooler whose other credits include Arsenic and Old Lace (“Mr. Gibbs”), A Little Princess (“Mr. Barrow”/“Mr. Carmichael”), A Christmas Carol (“Young Ebenezer”/“Third Spirit”), and Sherlock Holmes and (“Billy”). Connor enjoys learning about theology, writing, and excessively arguing with his friends over pointless matters.

Paul D. Perry (Duke of Holdernesse) – Paul was last seen on the Theatre Rocks! stage at the beginning of this season as the Sheriff in The Trip to Bountiful. He is thankful to Bill and Suzanne Rhoten for keeping theatre open in Ellis County throughout these trying times. Paul also appeared in Bill’s productions of Twelve Angry Men, Lu Ann Hampton Laverty Oberlander, and Greater Tuna. His other theatrical credits include The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, Romeo and Juliet, and Here Be Dragons. Paul stays busy with the everyday drama of being an Ellis County Commissioner, financial advisor, and father of eight—although a majority of his children are now out on their own. He and his wife Rebecca reside in what Paul likes to call the “Greater Italy-Milford-Frost Prosperity Triangle.”

Olivia Riojas (Carolyn) – Olivia is so excited to be in her very first Theatre Rocks! production. She is also currently in another show alongside Sherlock Holmes. Olivia would like to thank her Savior for all of His blessings in her life, as well as Mrs. Perry for this wonderful opportunity. She enjoys reading her giant collection of books, writing stories, and frolicking with chickens. “Hi, Max! Hi, Weston! Hi,

Logan!”

Cast Biographies

Jonathan Stewart (William Grey) – Jonathan is so excited for the opportunity to be on stage doing what he loves to do: perform. He is 11 years old, and he has been playing sketches for several years at his church in Ennis. Jonathan likes to create, make stories, draw, and spend time with his family, friends, and two cats.

Kenneth Wayne (Reuben Hayes)—This is Ken’s third production. He appeared earlier this season as “Eddie the Elf” in Bill Rhoten’s My Favorite Christmas and as “Hank” in Bill’s Mojave last summer at The Core Theatre in Richardson.

Andrew Williams (Sherlock Holmes)—Andrew has been involved in theatre for five years and has worked on film and stage, from Corsicana to Denison. This is his sixth appearance on the Theatre Rocks! stage. Earlier this season he appeared as “John Dale Lowe” in Life’s Little Miracles and as “Jim O’Connor” in The Glass Menagerie. It is his third show affiliated with Phoenix Repertory Players; he was last seen as “Bernard the Bard” in An Orphan’s Adventure. He hopes you enjoy the show.

Rebecca Perry (Director) -- An artist and writer, Rebecca has spent the last 17 years making theatre happen because her kids love for theatre to happen – and because creating worlds on stage is a blast. Rebecca thanks her eldest daughter, H. Lee McMillion, for writing this script, which was based on one of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s own personal favorites of his Sherlock stories. She also thanks her husband Paul for indulging her passion and joining in the madness and Bill and Suzanne Rhoten for continuing to nurture youth within the walls of this theatre.

Bill Rhoten Theatre Rocks! Co-Founder and Artistic Director

Bill Rhoten was born in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas. He has more than 40 years of diversified acting, directing, producing, and writing experience, in over 100 stage productions in Ennis and the Dallas area. He founded Dallas Theatre on Tour, the Prairie House Dinner Theatre, Ennis Public Theatre, and—seven years ago—Theatre Rocks! Some career highlights include: directing Pulitzer Prize anddirect Tony- winner Tracy Letts in his early career in Dallas in four productions; Bill performed in and directed William Mastrosimone's The Woolgatherer, for which he received the coveted "Critics Choice" award by the Dallas Times Herald; he directed Electric Angel by Brad Bailey, which had its world premiere in Dallas and was later produced in Los Angeles; and The Real Queen of Hearts Ain't Even Pretty by Brad Bailey was produced twice by Bill, who later co- produced and directed the feature length film. His writing credits include two screenplays, a TV pilot, Jessie's Diary, a short film now available on Amazon.com, and his film entitled New Hope (writer/director) which was selected with 30 other shorts in its category (of 1,800 submitted) for competition at the Palm Springs International Film Festival. "New Hope was the wisest, the smartest, and truthfully the most passionate of all the films we submitted....." (The Desert Sun, Palm Springs, California) He has authored seven stage plays: My Favorite Christmas and Where’s Santa? and four award-winning plays, all of which premiered on the Theatre Rocks! stage: Mojave, Hyer House, My First Date, and Forever. His latest play, Life’s Little Miracles, premiered at Theatre Rocks! in February 2021.

Suzanne Rhoten Theatre Rocks! Co-Founder and Executive Director

Suzanne’s background is in film and theatre production. She was formerly a founder and executive director of the Miss Plano Pageant, a preliminary to the Miss Texas/Miss America pageants. She has extensive acting experience, having been cast in numerous film, commercial, and industrial productions, as well as theatre in the Dallas area. Working alongside her producer, writer, director husband, Bill, she has experience in the areas of production management, script supervision, and set design. A certified non-profit manager and ordained minister, she serves as executive director of Theatre Rocks!

2020-2021 Season Line-Up of Shows The Trip to Bountiful by Horton Foote August: 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22, 23 (Matinee) An elderly woman, who lives with her protective son and daughter-in- law, longs to visit her home town of Bountiful, Texas. She sets out to make the trip but finds out not everything is as she remembered.

The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams October: 9, 10, 16, 17, 23, 24, 25 (Matinee) The Glass Menagerie is a memory play seen through the eyes of Tom Wingfield. A memory of a family who has trouble dealing with reality, which leads to each member of the family creating their own magical world and attempting to live in it.

My Favorite Christmas by Bill Rhoten December: 4, 5, 11, 12, 18, 19, 20 (Matinee) The adventure of the Osborn family as little Angela meets up with Santa and his favorite elf, Eddie. The dad’s plans for Christmas go awry, but with the help of his sleepwalking next-door neighbor, Jim, and some birthday cake, it is surely Angela’s favorite Christmas of her whole life.

Life’s Little Miracles by Bill Rhoten February: 12, 13, 19, 20, 26, 27, 28 (Matinee) The last in “The Greatest Generation Trilogy.” The lives of the Erhard family after Pearl Harbor continue in Mathis, Texas. Anna and Caleb have been married, but she hasn’t seen him since their brief honeymoon night in Corpus Christi. Caleb was transferred to the aircraft carrier Lexington, which is now at the bottom of the sea. She and her family prepare for the future and the Christmas of 1943.

Sherlock Holmes: The Adventure of the Priory School By Rebecca Perry, adapted from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle April 23, 24, 30, May 1, 2 (Matinee) 7, 8 (Matinee) & Evening Disappearances, murder, kidnapping in Victorian England. Sounds like a job, of course, for the inimitable Sherlock Holmes. This new, family-friendly adaptation of one of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s own favorite tales is full of humor and suspense.

Theatre Rocks National Playwriting Competition (Winner) June 11, 12, 18, 19, 25, 26, 27 (Matinee) Production of the national winner of this contest. Script entries open to writers from the United States. Script requirements to be issued in the Contest Rules to be advertised. A $500 dollar prize also will be awarded. Theatre Rocks! reserves the right to make changes to the show titles.
