At the time of writing, 200 people have just died an horrific death at the hands of terrorists in Madrid. Following their daily routine, their lives came to a sudden and violent end as bombs ripped open the railway carriages in which they were travelling. This tragic event has become a talking point throughout the world and is abhorred by all peace-loving people. In a short time it will fade from the headlines as other events take its place. Families caught up in this murderous incident will not be forgotten but they will cease to be a talking point. It did not hit the headlines in the same way but the Mel Gibson film The Passion of the Christ has occasioned much comment in the media since its launch a few weeks ago. Some have accused it of being anti-Semitic, others have denied this. -

PROPOSED SITE OPERATIONS 1.1. Planning consent for the landfill site at Storefield Lodge, Rushton was originally granted in 1989. In 2008 Mick George Ltd (MGL) acquired an interest in the site and in November 2008 was granted consent to establish a building to undertake waste recycling operations undercover on the site (Consent No 08/00069/WAS). 1.2. Subsequent planning consents have been granted on the site the last being for a northern extension to the landfill facility being granted in November 2011 (Consent No 11/00046/WAS). 1.3. It is now proposed to extend the existing Waste Reception Building close to the site access in a northern direction, to the same height and design (including colour and cladding) as the existing building (c. 10m high to the eaves and c. 12m high to the ridgeline), in order to expand the current waste pre-treatment and sorting operations to meet demand and aid efficiency of operations. A second weighbridge will also be established for greater efficiency of site operations and a new wheel bath facility included. -

A47/A141 Guyhirn junction Project update winter 2020 Investing in the A47 The A47 is an important connection, linking the cities of Norwich and Peterborough, the towns of Wisbech, Kings Lynn, Dereham, Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft and a succession of villages in what is largely a rural area. As part of a multi-billion investment to improve journeys on England’s major A-roads and motorways, the Government is funding a package of six projects on the 115-mile stretch of the A47 between Peterborough and Great Yarmouth. Together the projects will convert almost eight miles of single carriageway into dual carriageway and improve key junctions along the A47 road. For the last decade, the charity has focused on developing the Safe Systems approach, and in particular leading the establishment of the European Road Assessment Programme (EuroRAP) in the UK and, through EuroRAP, the global UK-based charity International Road Assessment Programme (iRAP). Background 3.1 The former Beanfield Secondary School site is situated within a predominantly residential area on the south-western edge of Corby. The application site covers part of the former Beanfield Secondary School site and is located on the former southern playing field area which is bounded to the east by the existing Beanfield Primary School, the A6003 Uppingham Road to the west and residential properties to the south. The proposed access to the site will be off Tower Hill Road in the southwest corner. The existing access off Glastonbury Road which used to serve the Beanfield Secondary School will be retained for future development of the northern part of the former secondary school site which does not form part of this application. 4. Proposal 4.1 The proposed new Maplefields School would provide places for 40 primary and 64 secondary pupils with behaviour, emotional and social difficulties (BESD). -

Advice on Travelling by Road to Lacey Green Windmill Lacey Green is most easily accessed from the A4010 road between High Wycombe and Aylesbury. IF TRAVELLING FROM THE NORTH, or Aylesbury, drive through Monks Risborough on the A4010. On reaching Princes Risborough (with Tesco in front of you), turn left at the first roundabout, and turn right at the second roundabout. Continue on the A4010 which is signposted to High Wycombe. After leaving the edge of the town of Princes Risborough, take the first turning on the left (signposted to Lacey Green). After a sharp bend to the right you will climb up the hill onto the Chilterns. Just at the very top of the hill turn left into Pink Road, where you will see The Whip pub. Park on the left hand side of Pink Road. Immediately beside the right hand side of the pub, you will find a path to walk up to the windmill. IF TRAVELLING FROM THE SOUTH, or High Wycombe and the M40 Junction 4 (from London direction), drive by the A4010 (from Handy Cross) and A40 to West Wycombe. At the Pedestal roundabout (with a Shell garage on your right) turn right onto the A4010. After passing under a railway bridge, take the first turning on the right, through the village of Bradenham, passing the village green on your right. Continue up through the woods to the top of the hill at Walters Ash. Turn left at the T junction. You will pass RAF High Wycombe on your left and a section of straight road will lead you to the southern end of Lacey Green village. -
