CONCERT REVIEW Iggy Pop The Commodore Ballroom

Well, don'l gel me completely wrong. Iggy is a showman, a hard rocker, and a man with an incredi• ble career behind him. As Ihe frontman for the powertrash band. But in the mid 70's, he befriended David Bowie, they moved to Berlin, and Iggy's career rebounded with Bowies' help. For the last decade and a half, he's tried many styles and lately has settled with a hard thrash sound. This is the sound he relied on for his Commodore show. Most of Ihe matenal was from his newest album, but he did play a few of the older ones including Real Wild Child, and an even older one. The Passenger. This was my favorite aspect of the show, because I dig his older material. As for the new stuff, well, the dead, died black cowskin jacket wearers seemed to get off on Iggys' gyrations, and his almost exoskeleton appearance, as well as the music.
