Vignan’sFoundation for Science, Technology and Research hosts Toycathon2021 vignan’s Foundation for Science, Technology and Research has been selected by MIC/AICTE for hosting Toycathon 2021 Grand Finale, an event conducted by Govt. of India to promote indigenous toy industry. Around 13 teams from different parts of India have confirmed their participation. Toycathon is a program that aims to inspire young people to make toys and games in India and to create innovative toys and games based on Indian civilization, history, culture, myths and ethics. Toycathan 2021 is an inter-ministerial program organized by the Innovation Cell of the Ministry of Education in collaboration with the All India Council for Technical Education, Ministry of Women and Child Development, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Ministry of MSME, and Ministry of Information. Toycathon 2021 is a great platform for students, teachers, startups and toy professionals in India to present their innovative toys / game concepts. Union Education Minister Toycathon has launched Challenge 2021 in collaboration with Amazon India, which is linked to the Arminirber initiative to boost the Make in India program. Students are invited to develop new board games, outdoor games and digital games. During the inauguration, the Union Education Minister also said that the toys were connected with Indian culture and ethics and should be used as a teaching tool for education. Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank and WCD and Textiles Minister Smriti Zubin Irani jointly launched Toykathon-2021, which aims to reach the $ 1 billion toy market in India, which is an innovative initiative of 33 crore students across the country. Ministers launched the Toycathon portal, which conceptualizes innovative toys based on the Indian value system that inspires positive behavior and good values in children. Speaking on the occasion, Pokhriyal said that Toycathon is managing to develop India as a global toy manufacturing hub. Speaking to media, said that India imports 80 per cent of its toys and the government is working to promote the domestic toy industry to make the country self-sufficient in the sector. She said that in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, faculty from all schools, colleges and universities in the country will pave the way for answering Atmanirbhar Bharat's clear call through this toycathon.

Dr. MYS Prasad, Vice-Chancellor, University of Science, said that the University of Science has hosted ToyCathon-2021, an ambitious event organized by the Ministry of Education, Innovation Cell, . Speaking on the occasion, he said, "We consider it a great privilege to serve as the University Nodal Center for Science for Toykathan-2021."

It has been revealed that Toykathan-2021 aims to inspire the youth to create innovative toys (Toy and Games) along with Indian civilization, history, culture and mythology. The event is being organized to develop India as a global toy manufacturing hub. It has been revealed that students and faculty participating in Toycathon will receive prizes of up to Rs 50 lakhs in total. The event was attended by Registrar Dr. MS Raghunathan, IQAC Dean Dr. M. Ramakrishna, Deans and Heads of the respective departments.
