White Plains Beautification Foundation, Inc. Beth Wallach Hosts "This Blooming City" on Cable TV As we enter our 19th year of production of the “This Blooming City” cable program, we've seen many Beautification News changes since we began in 1990. Beautification News, page 12 Spring 2008, page 13 What Would Spring Be Like Without Flowering Cherry Trees?

We've been planting these beauties since 1970 everywhere in town. Our schools ask for them for Arbor Day, they are requested for memorial trees and now they are being planted in Turnure Park for the annual Cherry Blossom Festival. Our first effort was to plant three hundred of them around the city. Two hundred and seven were planted on the Mamaroneck Avenue medians, sixteen in Tibbits Park and seventy-seven in other places around the city.
