Parking: The apartments have their own private driveway, it is the gravelled area at the side of the apartments.

Bins and Recycling: Here in we pride ourselves on our recycling, therefore we ask that you respect local council guidelines. The recycling bins are located at the bottom of the outside stairway. Please make sure you wash out any jars or ready meal packaging.

Breakages: We understand that breakages happen, if you could please let us know though that would be helpful, and we can get any items replaced as soon as possible.

Pets: We love our fur babies and could not imagine a holiday without them!

Please keep them on leads.

Also make sure that dogs do not go onto the farm land at the front of the apartments, the sheep are moved on and off there regularly and they are scared of our four-legged friends!

Well you can’t miss it! only pub in the village. serves proper pub grub and the portions are huge! Don’t let that daunt you though as there is always a doggie bag on offer and cheesecakes to take away. Delicious!

Outdoor seating, Casual Martson’s Pub, good for kids, plus it opens Monday’s which is great, a lot of Welsh pubs don’t in this area. its only 6.2 miles away and is right next to Tesco. They have a very good Gluten free menu also.

If you are looking for a special meal out or home cooked food using locally sourced produce, this is the place to go. Recently won family pub of the year 2018, not only is the food very good, the owners also have a Micro Zoo at the back of the pub, so if the little ones are sick of your cheeseboard and port chat they can go and check out what the meercats are up to.

What’s around? Whether you’re looking for peaceful walks in the Brecon Beacons, trips to one of the many beautiful beaches in the area, or shopping in the unique shops in either Swansea, Cardiff, or the quaint village of Ystradgynlais, Waterfall Country Apartments are in the ideal position to do it all. There are numerous waterfalls to visit, the closest being Henrhyd Waterfalls, which is located on the outskirts of the village, just up the road from the Waterfall Country Apartments. Henrhyd Waterfalls is the tallest waterfall in southern Wales with a drop of 90 feet, hence why it was the chosen location for the Batcave in the film The Dark Knight Rises. Also, only a 15 minute drive away is Pontneddfechan waterfalls, which is listed in the top ten walks in the Brecon Beacons, the start of this walk begins with a pub and ends with a pub, so if you have worked up a healthy appetite on your walk, the food at the The Angel and White Horse come highly recommended. Apart from the waterfalls, there are plenty of other things to do, below is a brief list of attractions from either on the door step or up to an hour drive away. Dan- Yr-Ogof National Showcaves for Wales- 9 minutes away 5.4 Miles- located at the National Showcaves Centre for Wales, is a 17-kilometre long cave system, it is claimed to be the largest in the UK. There is also a Dinosaur attraction at Dan-Yr-Ogof where you can visit over 200 life-size Dinosaurs, Iron Age Farm, Museum, Shire Horse Centre, covered children’s play area and a coffee shop. Craig-y-Nos Country Park - 8 minutes away 5.1 Miles - Situated in a dramatic and romantic location in the secluded upper , Craig-y- nos Country Park is a 40-acre Victorian garden with shady woodlands, meadows, ponds, lazy lawns and rushing rivers. It has a Visitor Centre, craft shop, Changing Seasons Tea Rooms and Restaurant (daily from 10am, Friday and Saturday evenings by advance booking, 01639 731498). Waun Uchaf Clay Shooting Ground – 2 minutes away 0.5 miles Learn to shoot clays, they welcome groups for stag, hen, birthday’s etc. It doesn’t matter if you can not shoot, you will be helped on the day and if you want to learn they can help with coaching lessons. Wales Ape & Monkey Sanctuary- 4 minutes away 1.3 miles The sanctuary rescues and provides a home for many types of unwanted animals, especially primates, such as chimpanzees, baboons, mandrills, spider monkeys, vervets, capuchins, mangabeys and marmosets. , Abercraf, SA9 1UD – 01639 730276- ape-monkey-rescue.org.uk

Local Attractions Around 1 Hour’s Drive Margam Country Park (Go Ape) The imposing ruins of Margam Abbey, which was founded in 1147, and its neighbouring castle are an impressive sight. Then there is Margam Park with its wild deer, farm animals to stroke, a train around the grounds, acres of grass to run around on, and a grand stately home. Entry to the park is free, although there are charges for parking. Also includes “Go Ape”, high-adrenaline rope swinging not for the faint hearted.

St Fagans National History Museum

Brings the past to life with over 40 original buildings from different historical periods. Have a stroll around the indoor galleries and 100 acres of beautiful grounds will give you a fascinating insights into how people in Wales lived, worked and spent their leisure hours since celtic times. You can see people practicing the traditional means of earning a living, the animals they kept and at certain times of the year, the ways in which they celebrated the seasons, Free admission entry fee but it costs £5 for car parking, and charges may apply to some events.

National Botanic Garden of Wales The attraction has the world’s largest single spanned glasshouse with displays Mediterranean climate zone plans. It is also the first botanic garden in Britain to be crowned Dark Sky Discovery Site.

Dylan Thomas’ Boathouse. Dylan Thomas lived at his beloved boathouse for the last four years of his life. The Swansea born writer is also thought to have penned Do Not Go Gentle and the “play for voices” Under Milk Wood at the boathouse. It is now a tea room and art gallery.

Castell Coch

This 19th century Gothic Revival castle, with its colourful interior and beautiful woodland setting, looks like it is straight out of a fairytale.

Folly Farm

There are more than 250 animals, including lions, penguins and giraffes and rhinos. You’ll also find meerkats, zebra, exotic parrots, snakes, and iguanas, There is also a vintage funfair, and an area to meet farmyard animals.

Barry Island

Go on the rides, eat fish and chips, play on the slots, build a sand castle – and anything else you can think of. Or, if you are a Gavin and Stacey fan, then you can take in all the sites and landmarks of the show with a tour.

Stargaze in the Brecon Beacons

The only Dark-Sky reserve in Wales is situated in the Brecon Beacons, and if the weather conditions are clear you can see the Milky Way, major constellations, bright nebulas and even meteor showers.

There are two café/restaurants right on the sea front with both inside and outside seating. However, dogs are banned on the central beach between May 1 and September 30, but the small beaches and dunes at each end are dog-friendly all year. The following Swansea and Gower beaches are out of bounds (except for guide dogs for the blind) between May 1 and September 30 every year, and offenders may be fined up to £500 Bracelet Bay, Caswell Bay, Langland Bay, Limeslade Bay, Port Eynon beach (eastern edge of the steps to the beach to the eastern edge of Horton beach,RothersladeBay Swansea Bay (River Tawe to the slip opposite Victoria Park/Sketty Lane to the edge of the slip at West Cross Inn).
