Primary Election Day is Tuesday, August 4

All MSMA members are encouraged to vote and ask their family members and employees to vote!

Polls in will be open Tuesday, August 4, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Election Day. If a runoff election is necessary, that election will be held three weeks later, on August 25, 2015. Polls will again be open from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.

MMPAC Endorses Statewide Candidates

The MMPAC Board has unanimously voted to endorse the following statewide candidates in their campaign for reelection/election:

MMPAC Legislative Endorsements

The MMPAC Political Action Committee has identified legislative candidates in the Primary Election considered to be supportive of the profession of medicine. The PAC decided its first priority should be to protect incumbent legislators who have been supportive of MSMA’s legislative issues during previous years and have a challenger in the primary.

REMINDER: Bring Your Photo ID to the Polls!

ALL voters will have to present one of the following forms of acceptable photo identification in order to vote:

 A driver's license  A photo ID issued by a branch, department or entity of the State of Mississippi  A United States passport  A government employee ID card  A firearms license  A student photo ID issued by an accredited Mississippi university, college or community/junior college  A United States military ID  A tribal photo ID  Any other photo ID issued by any branch, department, agency or entity of the United States government or any State government  A Mississippi Voter Identification card

A voter may use an expired photo ID as long as it is an acceptable form of photo ID (see list above) and is not more than ten (10) years old. The expired ID must contain the name and photograph of the voter, and have been validly issued by the federal or a state government.

A voter who does not have photo ID on Election Day will be asked to vote by affidavit ballot at the polling place. The voter will then have five (5) business days to show an acceptable form of photo ID, or apply for a Mississippi Voter ID card, at the Circuit Clerk's office.

No voter will ever be turned away from the polls for failing to have acceptable photo ID.
