GAMING LAW GOLF TOURNAMENT The sellout 9th Annual Law Scholarship Golf Tournament at Las Vegas National Golf Club raises $27,500 BY JEFF RODEFER, GAMING LAW SECTION CHAIR

On the afternoon of Friday, May 8, the Gaming Law Section held 2 The Shotgun Start... its 9th Annual Law Scholarship Golf Tournament. The open (four- person scramble) tournament was sold out, drawing 144 enthusiastic golfers. They were greeted by warm, sunny conditions at the Las Vegas National Golf Club. This year’s charitable event raised $27,500 for the Gaming Law Section Scholarship at the William S. Boyd School of Law, University of Nevada, Las Vegas. In its nine years, the golf tournament has generated more than $242,000 in scholarship money. The team of Mike Viellion, Dale Hayes Jr., Brian Viellion and Josh Crollelli from Lanco West took first place, with a net score of 54.5 (16.5 under par). The second- and third-place teams were determined by a team handicap tiebreaker. The team of Brent Harsh, Brian Brown, Phil Goodhart and Tom Boley from the law firm of Thorndal Armstong Delk Balkenbush & Eisinger took second place, with a net score of 56 (15 under par). The team of Tony Moskowitz, Ray Turpin, 3 Barry Wendel and Jeremy Chapman from Bear Com took third place, with a net score of 56 (15 under par). The team of Christine Smith, Pam Gallion, Lorlee Marconi-Farnia and Sean Claggett from the Boyd Dean John White's first drive of the day. School of Law took the high score award with a net score of 68.75 (2.25 under par). The men’s and women’s long-drive champions were Mark Stevens and Mariko Miranda. The men’s and women’s closest- to-the-pin champions were Tom Norton and Mariko Miranda. The Gaming Law Section sponsored five hole-in-one contests; prizes included a $500 VISA gift card, a Bose Wave sound system, Nike golf equipment and a Dell computer on the non-target holes (third, eighth, 11th and 16th), as well as a 2010 Mercedes Benz GLK 350 provided by Fletcher Jones Imports on the target hole (14th).Bally Technology - JP Cody, Robert Crowder, Lars Perry & Marc Comella Unfortunately, there were no winners again this year.
