User's Guide To WDAM Radio's History Of Buddy Holly & The Crickets Preface To The 2020 Edition This across-four-decades-and-two-centuries-long work-in-progress now has been converted to MP3. This new version is expanded from the most recent edition (2009) and contains even more hit and significant non-hit covers of Buddy Holly “solo” and Buddy Holly & The recordings ... as well as newly discovered Buddy Holly "salute" songs, interviews, and recorded historical artifacts that WDAM Radio has identified and acquired. The Collection Congratulations! You now own every hit record ever recorded by Buddy Holly (and/or records on which Buddy appeared as a back-up singer/musician) in both the United States and the United Kingdom. It also includes all charted hits by the Crickets [including all of their many United Kingdom hits, too!] after Buddy's death, as well as their remaining discography. All are in chronological order! .... or at least, sort of. You'll also enjoy original versions of songs that were later re-made into hits by Holly...plus every other artists' hit covers [including those that were only hits in the United Kingdom] of Holly originals ever recorded...plus almost all of those glorious "Buddy Holly death-salute" songs (along with similar tributes to J.P. Richardson and Ritchie Valens). It's the only collection of its kind this side ... or any side of Lubbock, Texas; Clovis, New Mexico; New York City; or Clear Lake, Iowa. (If you know the history of Buddy Holly, you will know why those locations were chosen.) Every release on single 45's (or 78's) is followed by the highest position reached in Billboard magazine and the year.

  • Praise for Say Goodbye
praise for say goodbye “Shiner has written a fine novel about rock ’n’ roll by believing more in musicians’ human nature than in their mythologies.” —Mark Athitakis, New York Times Book Review “Say Goodbye resonates like a blue note heard and remem- bered in a smoky, late-night club. Lewis Shiner has written the Citizen Kane of rock and roll novels, a human and mov- ing piece of work.” —George P. Pelecanos, author of The Sweet Forever “Gritty, funny, cynical, and sentimental; a sharply focused epic that brings welcome revision to the sunny, pop-culture success gospels that have led so many naïve talents astray.” —Kirkus Reviews “Every band has an inner momentum like this, its entangles and wreck-tangles, moments of bliss mixed with the jar- ring reality of life in the belly of the music business, and the shared song which makes it all worthwhile. Lewis Shiner sings the tale with harmonic compassion.” —Lenny Kaye, guitarist, Patti Smith Group “Engrossing...Shiner competently vivifies the uncertainties and boredom of the musician’s life, but more impressively, he manages to convey the almost indescribable joy of bringing an audience from a state of apathy to the edge of hysteria...A revealing look at today’s music business.” —George Needham, Booklist “A spare and remarkable book resonating with heart and bittersweet reality.” —Mike Shea, Texas Monthly “[A] soulful elegy...fresh and original...Shiner’s extensive research gives the story an authentic feel and keeps it from becoming a soap opera or a wearisome cover version of every other rise-and-fall parable.

EVERLYPEDIA (formerly The Everly Brothers Index – TEBI) Coordinated by Robin Dunn & Chrissie van Varik A complete (as far as is possible) index/encyclopaedia on every facet of Don & Phil Everly, covering their lives, careers, influences and connections – of course, from us as huge fans, with all due respect to them and their families. For more recording information, see also the various detailed discography lists on the EBI website (Everly.Net); for lyrics to songs, please refer to the Lyric List on the same website (http://www.everly.net/file/disco/disco.htm ). KEY/GLOSSARY/NOTES: • WB: Warner Brothers • EBs: The Everly Brothers • LPs, CDs etc. are generally (but not always) referred to throughout as ‘albums’. • Other than important (re)releases, only the original/initial album release is referred to. • Entries are listed under the first letter, including titles that start with a bracket, e.g. ‘(Why Am I) Chained To A Memory’, but exclude ‘The’ in which case they are listed under the second word. • Surnames or family names come first in the index. • Headings are coloured blue for song and album titles and maroon for everything else. • All words in bold type in the text are cross-references to other main entry headings – although no doubt we’ve missed a few! • Entries are generally aimed to be informative and we have attempted to keep them brief though some are lengthy due to the importance and significance in the life and career of Don and Phil. However, in some cases, due to the limitations of space and the huge volume of material available elsewhere, details have been kept to a bare minimum and relate mainly to the ‘Everly connection’ – e.g.

Dear Ms. Duncan: Pursuant to 2 USC § 437g(aXl) and 11 CFR § 111.4, please accept this letter as a Complaint against Roy Carter CD for Congress Committee ("Carter Campaign"). Roy Carter is a candidate for Congress in the 5 District of in North Carolina. H in The facts in this matter indicate that the Carter Campaign accepted contributions from Joseph T-Bone" Burnett in violation of the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971, as amended (the "Act"), and Federal Election «gr Commission ("FEC" or "Commission*1). o The Carter Campaign held a fundraiser in Asheville on June 14,2008 with Joseph "T-Bone" Burnett where Mr. Burnett provided ten limited edition packages for a conceit with Alison Krauss, Robert Plant, and T Bone Burnett See Exhibit A. According to Stacey Carter, Mr. Burnett also provided Roy Carter with an autographed guitar to auction off to benefit his campaign. See Exhibit B. However, the Carter Campaign does not list a single transaction in conjunction with the contribution of tickets or a signed guitar on the July Quarterly Report filed with the FEC. See Exhibit C. The Carter Campaign accepted contributions from Joseph 'T-Bone" Burnett in excess of legal limits and blatantly disregarded the law with regard to contributions and reporting requirements of the FEC. Mr. Burnett's contributions of the tickets and autographed guitar exceeds legal contribution limits for the General Election on November 4,2008.
