Received 25 March 2011; Accepted 1 August 2011 Abstract The Samut Sakhon coastal zone (~41.8 km), which was selected as a study area due to its low-lying topography, has been increasingly impacted by climate change and erosion processes affecting the local community. This study examined the vulnerability area in this region by combining a physical process vulnerability index (PVI) and a socio-economic vulnerability index (SVI). Four physical variables (coastal slope, coastal erosion rate, mean tidal range, and mean wave height) and four socio-economic variables (land use, population density, cultural heritage, and roads/railways) were employed. The result was a single vulnerability indicator of a coastal vulnerability index (CVI) showing that the high vulnerability area, covering an area of 1.3 km2 (0.45% of total study area), was located in Ban Bo, Ka Long, Bangyaprak, Bangkrajao, Khok Kham, Na Kok, and Puntainorasing. The moderate vulnerability area covered an area of 28 km2 (9.5% of total study area), the low vulner- ability area 180 km2 (60.56% of total study area), and the very low vulnerability area 88 km2 (29.52% of total study area). The CVI map indicated that it was highly differentiated and influenced by socio-economic indicators, rather than physical indicators. However, comparison between the different results of the PVI and SVI can contribute to understanding the vari- ability and constraints of vulnerability.

(“Ajinomoto Co.”) has agreed with KASIKORNBANK PUBLIC COMPANY LIMITED ("KBANK") and The Siam Commercial Bank Public Company Limited ("SCB") to acquire all the shares of AJINOMOTO CO., (Thailand) LTD. (“Ajinomoto Thailand”), owned by KBANK and SCB, following the resolution regarding the execution of share purchase and sale agreement with THANACHART SPV2 CO., Ltd. announced on January 31 2020. Today Ajinomoto Co. has resolved to enter into a share purchase and sale agreement with KBANK and SCB, respectively. 1. Reasons for Additional Acquisition of Shares Ajinomoto Thailand, established in 1960, is a consolidated subsidiary in which Ajinomoto Co. owns an 88.52% stake. It manufactures and sells seasonings, food products and other products in Thailand. Ajinomoto Co. set out "to consider increasing net income by increasing the ratio interest of consolidated subsidiaries" in the 2017-2019 (for 2020) Medium-Term Management Plan, and set out the basic policy of "concentrating all management resources for the purpose of solving food and health issues" in the "ASV Management of the Ajinomoto Group, Vision for 2030 and Medium-Term Management Plan for 2020-2025", released on February 19, 2020. Ajinomoto Co. will focus further management resources on solving food and health issues by raising the shareholding ratio of Ajinomoto Thailand, which is the mainstay of the consumer food business. Ajinomoto Co. also expects that the additional acquisition of such shares will contribute to the improvement of its ROE and EPS. Ajinomoto Co. will continue to strengthen our ability to generate cash flow and improve capital efficiency to increase shareholder value and transform our business structure into one capable of sustainable growth.

In conjunction with the oral histories acquired from the local residents, the study incorporates inquiries on historical narratives and documents, together with photographic and illustrative materials obtained from physical surveys of thirty religious structures for data collection. The textual investigations indicate that Mon people migrated to the Siamese kingdom of Ayutthaya in large number during the 18th century, and established their settlements in and around Pakkret area. Located northwest of the present day Bangkok in Nonthaburi province, Pakkret developed into an important community of the Mon diasporas, possessing a well-organized local administration that contributed to its economic prosperity. Although the Mons was assimilated into the Siamese political structure, they were able to preserve most of their traditions and customs. At the same time, the productions of their cultural artifacts encompassed many Thai elements as well, as evident from Mon Buddhist temples and monasteries in Pakkret. The stylistic analyses of these structures further reveal the following findings.
