FOUNTAIN CITY PERFORMING ARTS – INFORMATION SHEET What is FCPA? FCPA – Fountain City Performing Arts is the managing organization to SingOUTKC youth chorus, PerformOUTKC youth theater arts and OUTLoudKC youth band for , , Bisexual, , Queer, at-risk and straight ally teens ages, 13-18 in the Greater Kansas City community offering a safe space for teens to grow and share their views on societal issues through the arts.

What is mission of FCPA? The mission of FCPA is to foster an environment to empower youth through original art; to unite, educate and enlighten the change in hearts and minds!

What is FCPA’s rehearsal/meeting structure? Starting this fall, weekly choral, instrumental music and theater meetings will be held on Tuesday (early) evenings at the Synergy Services Youth Resiliency Center. A light dinner will be offered to all youth interested in participating in FCPA arts services. FCPA is a safe space for youth of any and all identities to explore, discover, celebrate and share with each other through the performing arts.

Who are the leadership of the organization? Fountain City’s leadership is made up of diverse, inclusive and professional individuals from the Kansas City community that strive to make the organizations vision and mission a reality for youth. Artistic staff and board members serve as both advocates & ambassadors in the community on behalf of the organization. FCPA staffs an artistic director, music & theater teaching artists and a managing director.

Why Join FCPA? FCPA is a program offered to youth that have an interest in learning and developing a support system, to develop a positive self-image through self-exploration and share diverse life experiences, talent and voices through performance.

What is GALA Choruses? GALA Choruses is a 501c3, not-for-profit organization serving the GLBT choral movement! The mission of GALA Choruses is to support GLBT choruses as we change our world through song. GALA Choruses is open to all GLBT and GLBT-allied choruses. FCPA’s SingOUTKC youth chorus is joined by several youth choruses and performing arts program throughout the United States.

What is LGBA? The purpose of the Lesbian and Gay Band Association is to promote LGBT Music, Visibility and Pride for all by; providing an international network of LGBT and affirming bands in all stage of development; promoting music as a medium of communication among people; improving the quality of artistic and organizational aspects of member bands and to stimulate public interest in the unique art form of community bands in our culture for all.
