Maria Slough has worked in the media for over 20 years. During four years in Television Commercials she worked as a Production Co-ordinator across campaigns for Levi's, Camel Cigarettes, Snickers, Rice Krispies and Colgate. Television and Film Production credits include 24 Episodes of the children's animation series 'Chinese Word For' and the award winning film 'Mrs Dalloway'. Under her own production company Deep Water Films, Maria has produced multiple top comedy DVD titles for Universal and created and Produced the first Strictly Come Dancing themed title, 'The Magic of Dance'. She produced and directed multiple live theatre concerts at the Apollo , recreated and directed 'A Night With Al Murray' for BT and took the Magic of Dance title to the stage at The Perth Festival of Arts. Most recently she created and produced a short film for Born Free Foundation and Kenya Airways. Deep Water Film's first feature film 'The Jumping Rocks' is currently in development. Since 2011 Maria has established herself as a media photographer alongside her production work. Her clients include NBC Universal, Living TV, , Sky Television, Taylor Herring PR, ITV, Carnival UK and Skoda Motorsport with published images across National Newspapers The Sun, The Mirror, and The Mail and magazines such as Radio Times, Your Horse, Weekend Magazine, Life, Zoo, Loaded and AutoCar. From 2013- 2014 Maria wrote a monthly column for Photobox, Europe's largest online Photo Company with an audience reach of over 2 million in the UK. Maria is a regular photojournalist contributor to Vegan Life Magazine and still guest writes for Photobox. Her portrait of World Record Triple Jumper holder Jonathan Edwards was auctioned at Christie's as part of 'FACE BRITAIN'. Maria has worked on shoots in China, Cyprus, Italy and France. From October 2012 Maria travelled approximately 2440 road miles, 360 nautical miles and 10,000 air miles to photograph well known faces and members of the public all with an animal of their choice to create her first exhibition The Pawtraits Exhibition™ which launched at The Cafe Royal in 2014. The 30 photographs include images of Virginia McKenna OBE, Dr Brian May, Fay Ripley, Olympic swimmer Mark Foster, Paul O Grady, and Dame Eileen Atkins and tell stories of love and companionship with each picture raising awareness for an animal related charity. The concept is owned and trademarked by Maria and was supported by British Airways, Carnival UK and Booja Booja. A tour of the images is planned for 2017.
