High School Musical Workshop Information Page

Mainstage Youth Workshop & Drew Seeley Masterclass Rehearsal Dates: June 1st - August 8th Performance Dates: August 9th - August 25th Director: Amanda Duisenberg Assistant to the Director: Tristan Harness Music Director: Peter Kagstrom Choreographer: Brittany Cody Bays Each High School Musical cast member will take part in a special one-day musical masterclass and concert with stage & screen star Drew Seeley. Drew was the original singing voice of Troy Bolton, played by Zac Efron in the Disney movie, High School Musical! Ages: 8 – 15yrs old Workshop Fee: $290 (includes Drew Seeley Masterclass) Auditions: Tuesday 5/28/19 or Wednesday 5/29/19 at 7pm Callbacks: Thursday 5/30/19 at 6pm Be prepared to submit ALL conflicts for the run of the show. We will cast show based on submitted conflicts and any added after casting may affect your ability to remain in the production. Bring sheet music double sided and hole punched in a binder and marked for a 16-32 bar cut. Be sure that sheet music has piano accompaniment and not just vocal line. Song should be from a Broadway show other than High School Musical. An accompanist will be provided for you. Bring appropriate clothes and shoes for dance portion of audition. Costumes Most costumes will be provided, however the costumer may ask for cast members to bring certain pieces that they already own. Cast members will be expected to provide appropriate shoes, socks, or tights and undergarments. Rehearsals Rehearsals will typically be Sunday-Thursday afternoons or evenings, Saturday morning/afternoons, and some Fridays. Not all cast members will be called to every rehearsal. Rehearsals will be longer and later during Tech and Dress rehearsals. All white spaces listed on the Conflict Schedule are potential rehearsal times for the production. Volunteer Hours We ask that each family volunteer for a minimum of 15 hours, including one Annex shift. More info will be emailed regarding volunteering. If you are unable to volunteer, you may bring items to fulfill your hour minimum. .

‘FRESHMAN FATHER’ CAST BIOS DREW SEELEY (John Patton) – Drew Seeley grew up in Toronto, where he first fell in love with the stage. At age 11 he was cast in Hal Prince’s revival of Showboat, and stayed with the production for a year. He has guest-starred on shows such as “One Tree Hill,” “Dawson’s Creek” and “Guiding Light.” Seeley also has a career as a musician and has toured the country as one of the lead singers of the R&B group Nu Ground. In 2005, Seeley began working with established producer Ray Cham and together they wrote “Getcha Head in the Game” for Disney’s quadruple platinum “High School Musical” soundtrack. This garnered them an Emmy® nomination in the Best Original Song and Lyrics category. In addition, Seeley co-starred in the North America and Latin America tours of High School Musical: The Concert, playing in 60,000 seat arenas. Seeley’s song and video, “Dance with Me,” from the platinum “Cheetah Girls 2” soundtrack, can be seen on the Disney Channel. Seeley also appeared in Belinda Peregrin’s music video “Ni Freud, Ni Tu Mama.” Seeley has appeared in the Hallmark Channel Original Movie “Claire” opposite Valerie Bertinelli, and co-starred in the film “Fly Kidz,” for which he co-wrote and produced the soundtrack. He also wrote and performed music for the Disney Channel Original Movie “Jump In!,” starring Corbin Bleu. Seeley has recently been on a national tour performing his own original music and is recording his forthcoming debut album.
