STAR PARKER President of the Center for Urban Renewal and Education (CURE) THE PERVERSE AGENDA OF BLACK LIVES MATTER
Since the new wave of race consciousness that has been sweeping our Country, precipitated by the graphic video of the killing of George Floyd by police officer Derek Chavin, something very strange has happened. Somehow, what is perceived as a problem has become widely understood to be the solution. And it is endangering our country.
If there remain citizens in America who, because of race or other reason, are deprived of the benefits and protections of a free society, we should work to bring those benefits of freedom to them. The answer is not to abandon the principles that make us a free country. But this is what is happening. Those who are the loudest and most aggressive about what is supposedly wrong don’t want a free country. Their complaint is not about the absence of freedom, but who has power and who will be in charge and running the show.
Nothing could make this clearer than the recent bizarre statement of Black Lives Matter about the current civil unrest in Cuba. Cuba is an unfree country. It has been run by communists for years And, like all countries that are run by communists, the people there live deprived and oppressed. This is not rhetoric. THIS IS FACT! Freedom House in Washington, D.C., is a nonpartisan organization that rate nations according to political rights and civil liberties. Cuba ranks as one of the world’s least free countries. Out of a possible score of 100, Cuba scores 13. In political rights, out of a top score of 40, Cuba gets a 1. On civil liberties, out of a possible score of 60, Cuba scores 12.
Yet, Black Lives Matters writes, “The people of Cuba are being punished by the U.S. government because the country has maintained its commitment to sovereignty and self-determination.” As the information from Freedom House shows, the only sovereignty and self-determination that exists in Cuba is in the hands of the communist despots who run the place. Yet, in the opinion of Black Lives Matter, the suffering of the Cuban people is not due to the despots running Cuba, who deprive them of their freedom but it’s caused by the free country, the USA, that is its nearby neigh- bor to the north.
We don’t see many Americans fleeing to live in Cuba. But, per the Pew Research Center, there are over 2 mil- lion Cuban Americans who left Cuba, or whose family left Cuba, to come to live in a country that is free. More- over, per a survey done by Pew in 2020, 58% of Cuban Americans identify as, or lean toward Republicans com- pared with 38% who identify as, or lean toward Democrats.
Cuban Americans know what oppression is about, and it’s why they care so much about being free Americans. “Since l962” says Black Lives Matter, “the United States has forced pain and suffering on the people of Cuba by cutting off food, medicine and supplies.” Yet, the United States maintains an economic embargo on Cuba. Why should our nation provide sources of rev- enue that will only go into the coffers of the communists who control everything, But, as The Wall Street Jour- nal’s Mary O’Grady points out, contrary to BLM’s distortions, “food and medicine are exempt” from this em- bargo. The one thing that Black Lives Matter gets right is that almost a third of Cubans are Black and Brown. Yet, somehow, Black Lives Matter thinks they will enhance the lives of these people of color by supporting oppres- sors rather than bringing them more freedom.
And indeed, Black Lives Matter has the same anti-freedom agenda in our country. The question is why this perverse group has so much credibility and power? What is wrong with our political and business leaders that support these enemies of human freedom?

Dear Republican patriots: Thank you to those of you that attended our August 6 Ice-cream Social and heard our Young Republican speak- ers from UCI, Cal State Fullerton and Loyola Marymount in Los Angeles. They certainly gave us hope for the future and they encouraged us to run for office (School Boards, City Council, etc.) even more important— register more citizens to join our Republican Party. So our first challenge is the Recall of Governor Gavin Newsom. Thank you for the first 30 of you who volunteered to call or walk precincts in Laguna Woods. We have over 5000 registered Republicans and over 2500 registered Independents to contact from August 16 to September 14. We want to urge them to do 2 things: #1 to vote YES to Recall Governor Newsom and #2 vote for one of the Republican candidates on the ballot. Why??? Because California is in a crisis mode and there is grow- ing anxiety about the direction of our beautiful state. WHERE DOES CARBON DIOXIDE COME FROM?
Ian Rutherford Plimer is an Australian geologist, professor emeritus of earth sciences at the University of Melbourne, professor of mining geology at the University of Adelaide, and the director of multiple mineral exploration and mining companies. He has published 130 scientific papers, six books and edited the Encyclo- pedia of Geology. Professor Ian Plimer could not have said it better! If you’ve read this book you will agree; this is a good sum- mary. PLIMER: “Okay, here’s the bombshell. The volcanic eruption in Iceland. Since its first spewing of volcanic ash has, in just FOUR DAYS, NEGATED EVERY SINGLE EFFORT you have made in the past five years to control CO2 emission on our planet—all of you. Of course, you know about this evil carbon dioxide that we are trying to suppress– its that vital chemical compound that every plant requires to live and grow and to synthesize into oxygen for us humans and all an- imal life. I know..it’s very disheartening to realize that all of the carbon emission savings you have accom- plished while suffering the inconvenience and expense of driving Prius hybrids, buying fabric grocery bags, sitting up till midnight to finish your kids “The Green Revolution” science project, throwing out all of your non-green cleaning supplies, using only two squares of toilet paper, putting a brick in your toilet tank reser- voir, selling your SUV and speedboat, vacation in Bali getting hit every day on your bicycle, replacing all of your 50 cent light bulbs with $10.00 light bulbs...well, all of those things you have done have all gone down the tubes in just FOUR days. The volcanic ask emitted into the Earth’s atmosphere in just FOUR days—yes, FOUR days– by that volcano in Iceland which has totally erased every single effort you have made to reduce the evil beast, carbon. And there are around 200 active volcanoes on the planet spewing out this crud at any one time—EVERY DAY! I don’t really want to rain on your parade too much, but I should mention that when the volcano Mt. Pinatubo erupted in the Philippines in 1991, it spewed out more greenhouse gases into the atmosphere than the entire human race had emitted in all its years on earth. Yes, folks, Mt. Pinatubo was active for over one year—think about it. Of course, I shouldn’t spoil this ‘touchy-feely tree-hugging’ moment and mention the effect of solar and cosmic activity and the well-recognized 800-year global heating and cooling cycle, which keeps happening despite our compete insignificant efforts to affect climate change. And I do wish I had a silver lining to this volcanic ash cloud, but the fact of the matter is that the bush fire season across the western USA and Australia this year alone will negate your efforts to reduce carbon in our world for the next 2 to 3 years. And it happens every year. Just remember that your government just tried to impose a whopping carbon tax on you, on the basis of the bogus “human-caused’ climate-change scenario. Hey, isn’t it interesting how they don’t mention ‘Global Warming 'anymore, but just “Climate Change” -you know why? It’s because the planet has COOLED by 0.7 degrees. In the past century and these global warming bull **** artists got caught with their pants down. And, just keep in mind that you might yet be stuck with an Emissions Trad- ing Scheme—that whopping new tax—imposed on you that will achieve absolutely nothing except to make you poorer. It won’t stop any volcanoes from erupting, that’s for sure. But, hey relax...give the world a hug and have a nice day!”

WAKE UP AMERICA!! Simply put, countries slip into communism relatively peacefully. People give away a right here and right there. The next thing you know they’re completely controlled at the barrel of a gun. Then what? How do you go back? Well you’re seeing in Cuba, after 60 years under the iron fist of communism, what the population has to do to regain their freedom. It will not be an easy path to freedom and liberty. But there is strength in numbers. We as a nation must stand with the Cuban people and our government must make it known that genocide is not an op- tion for their failed regime. Turning to our own back yard, it is not difficult to see we are transitioning to communism here. I am speaking to ALL who see this message. We are in a glide path to the same government that these poor oppressed souls are so valiantly trying to escape. You say it can't happen here? Oh really? We are staring it right in the eye at this mo- ment. No hyperbole here. What happened in the name of “health” in the last year? One group was labeled open- ly “essential.” Essential to what? Who? I guarantee those who had businesses closed would argue they were es- sential. Oh I remember vividly how the essential people were taking TIC TOC videos and dance routines they were so overwhelmed. Remember the empty hospitals? Oh you didn’t know? The destruction of our middle class and confiscation of our guns (remember New Orleans?) are the first steps toward government dependency. A necessary evil for communism is a rich, elite, controlling arm and a depend- ent, unarmed poor class. That’s it. You are one or the other and I assure you there aren’t many in the power class. The stifling of speech is here. The grab for guns is here. The division it takes to obtain their objectives is under way. We with fight now or our children and grandchildren are finished. And it happened on our watch! How far away are we from “show us your papers?” This event we went through in the last year plus was planned step by step to achieve evil goals. Wake up and fight now or this generation will be known as the one that gave up the last stronghold on freedom. It is time for a change. Be a part of the solution or stand aside. I am often asked on radio what are “we” going to do about recovering our country. Too often, what is meant is— what is someone else going to do to save America. That mind-set is simply unacceptable. If we are to rally to the defense of our liberty and unalienable rights, then each of us, in our own roles and ways, must become personal- ly and directly involved as citizen activists, in our own fate and the fate of our country. The time has come to re- claim what is ours—the American Republic—from those who seek to destroy it. If we expect others to rescue our nation for us, as we go about our daily lives as mere observers to what is transpiring, or close our eyes and ears to current events, we will lose this struggle. And yes, it is a struggle. THIS IS A TIME FOR ACTION!!
The time to act is now. Each of us must take time out of our daily lives to help save our country. We must be tac- tical and nimble in our responses to American Marxism and its multiple movements. And we must organize, ral- ly boycott, protest, speak, write, and more—and, where appropriate, we must use the Marxist’s strategies and tactics against him. In other words, we must become the new “community activists.” But unlike the Marxists, our cause is PATRIOTISM
