PRESIDENT’S WELCOME On behalf of the newly elected board at Floreat Athena FC we would like to welcome all players, coaches, officials and supporters for today’s games against Sorrento FC. I would also like to extend the warm welcome to Sorrento President Derek Harnwell and Secretary Kerry Slater, two individuals who have one of the longest tenures of being involved at board level of any football club in WA.

The past few months have seen the club hold both an AGM and SGM. I would like to thank the efforts of those involved in the previous board as well as the work done by the Interim Board in keeping a "business as usual" approach to running the club’s business during the interim period. Thank you to Dimitri Pantelias, Lauren Spenceley, Dimitrios Felekis, Kim Macpherson, Andrew Kailis, George Tiniakos and Steven Belk.

The new board has to move quickly to progress and finalise the scope of the $3 million federal government grant to construct new change rooms and renovate the FAFC Clubrooms. We also have had confirmation by the City of Vincent that it has been successful in applying for a $750,000 much needed upgrade to the floodlights on Britannia Reserve which will enhance our training facilities.

I would like to thank all of our amazing sponsors for their continued support and whom without we couldn't operate our club as we do.

All the best to all teams and I hope you all enjoy the day and the club’s hospitality.

I would like to welcome Sorrento SC players, sponsors, supporters and officials to Litis Stadium. The last two weeks have seen us continue our good form and remain undefeated for the season. The Round 6, 2-0 victory against Cockburn was a business like performance against a quality side desperate for points. In Round 7, we travelled to Gwelup and dropped our first points of the season with a 1-1 draw. After conceding against the run of play I am proud of the way we were able to remain calm and continue playing. We played some great football and deserved more as we squandered many clear cut chances. Despite missing out on the three points, we know that the performance warranted a resounding victory and we will look to continue playing at that level. Today’s clash will see us face a rejuvenated Sorrento SC, who have started the season well after a poor night series. Jamie Harnwell’s teams is always tough competition and his boys will make it difficult for us. We need to be at our very best to continue the undefeated start. Finally I would like to thank the club, volunteers, sponsors, and fans for the their ongoing support. Hopefully, we can celebrate another victory tonight.

U20s COACH’S WELCOME

Firstly, I’d like to welcome Sorrento Football club to Litis Stadium for what should be a good day of football. With all the COVID-19 concerns floating at the moment, we are so fortunate to be able to play the game we love. We are coming off the back of an away defeat to Gwelup Croatia SC where our performance was disappointing to say the least. As a squad, we set goals during pre season and if we are to reach those goals, we must start to turn things round today. Sorrento will pose a challenge, they always do. Here’s hoping for a competitive game played in the right manner. Good luck to the U18s and the first team. Zack Morgan U20s Coach U20s SQUAD

Welcome to our Round 8 clash with Sorrento FC. We welcome players, coaches, and supporters to Litis Stadium. Today’s opponents have been playing well and we will have to be at our best to compete with them. Last week, we played against Gwelup Croatia and it was a poor performance from the boys. We were well beaten, I trust the boys will not put up another performance like that. We look forward to the challenge of testing ourselves against a quality team. Good luck to Vas and Adrian and our first team, and to Zack and Ryan with U20s. Looking forward to seeing you all on the day.
