Two New Attractions and Two Enhanced Fan-Favorites - All Starting from Spring 2018 December 22, 2017(Fri) Universal Studios Japan presents Two new attractions and two enhanced fan-favorites - all starting from spring 2018 In addition to the world’s first*1, next-generation Night Parade, comes the introduction of a new attraction featuring everyone's favorite, "Curious George.” One of the world’s best Harry Potter-themed rides relaunches with enhanced state-of-art technology, and the popular attraction “WaterWorld,” experienced by over 100 million people*3, have undergone a major revamp. Universal Studios Japan will offer four large scaled attractions from spring 2018, including the world-first, next-generation "UNIVERSAL SPECTACLE NIGHT PARADE: The Best of Hollywood". A brand-new theater-type show attraction, starring everyone's favorite “Curious George”, who has captured the hearts of fans around the world for over 75 years*4. “Curious George” takes a keen interest in the smaller guests in the crowd. As if coming to life, he befriends the little children will be smiling from ear to ear as the lovable Curious George plays around the room and befriends everyone.     COMCAST NBCUNIVERSAL TO ACQUIRE REMAINING 49% STAKE IN UNIVERSAL STUDIOS JAPAN Signals Strong Future for Universal Studios Japan and for Universal in Asia ORLANDO (Feb. 28, 2017) Comcast NBCUniversal announced today that it agreed to purchase 49 percent ownership of Universal Studios Japan (USJ) from its current partners, including Goldman Sachs, former USJ Chief Executive Officer Glenn Gumpel, Asian private-equity firm MBK Partners and U.S. hedge fund Owl Creek Asset Management. The purchase price for this transaction is ¥254.8 billion (US$2.3 billion), valuing USJ at ¥840 billion (US$7.4 billion), including the assumption of USJ net debt. Upon completion of the transaction, Comcast NBCUniversal will own 100 percent of the theme park destination. The acquisition further demonstrates Comcast NBCUniversal’s confidence in the future growth of Universal Studios Japan and the company’s strong interest in the Asian market – the company is also building a theme park destination in Beijing and licenses a theme park in Singapore. Universal Studios Japan opened in 2001 as a Japanese company with a license from NBCUniversal. It has seen strong growth in popularity, attendance and revenue. We’ve long known that birds evolved from dinosaurs, but a new discovery – the fossil of a feathered flying dinosaur in rocks in a remote part of China – tells us more than we have ever known about how dinosaurs and early birds took to the skies. The newly discovered dinosaur is called Changyuraptor yangi. It was the size of a large eagle, weighing roughly 4 kilograms and measuring about 1.3 metres from snout to tail. And it had not two, but four wings and a long plumed tail. So well preserved were the feathers of the flying dinosaur's tail that scientists could work out how it was used in flight. They believe that it allowed the dinosaurs to adjust their pitch – that is, whether they were flying nose up or nose down – as well as to slow their speed and help them land safely.

Fire is from advancing CAMP lava flows. 2 ABSTRACT The Connecticut Valley Rift Basin is one of the best places in the world to see the record of the environmental and biological events that resulted from a mass extinction 202 million years ago that led to 136 million years of dinosaur ecological dominance. The extinction was tied to extremely high CO2 and sulfur aerosols spewed out some of the largest volcanic eruptions in Earth history. We will examine excellent exposures of lavas from the eruptions that caused the extinction and interbedded and overlying lake and lake margin sediments that reveal the exag- gerated climate swings that preserved diverse fish species and extraordinarily abundant dinosaur footprints from the recovery from the mass-extinction and consequent dinosaurian dominance.
