SUPER NINTENDO WORLD will be an expansive, highly themed and immersive land featuring Nintendo’s legendary worlds, characters and adventures. Guests will feel as if they are playing inside their favorite Nintendo video games – in real life. It will be filled with truly unique and fun rides, shops, a restaurant and interactive gameplay throughout the land. And there will be something for everyone, regardless of age or gaming experience. Universal Studios Japan will be the first Universal theme park to feature SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, followed by Universal theme parks in Hollywood, Orlando and Singapore. And today, Nintendo fans participated in the SUPER NINTENDO WORLD CHALLENGE in New York City’s Grand Central Terminal where several lucky Nintendo fans won a trip to Japan to participate in an exclusive preview of SUPER NINTENDO WORLD before it opens. During the event, dozens of participants punched life-sized versions of the iconic ? Blocks in an effort to win. More than 1,000 Nintendo fans had pre-registered for the chance to win. This is the first time Universal Studios Japan has held a fan event for a new themed area overseas. Page Thompson, President and Chief Operating Officer, International, Universal Parks & Resorts said “we are very excited about SUPER NINTENDO WORLD and Universal Studios Japan is where it will all begin. Universal Studios Japan is already one of the world’s greatest theme parks and SUPER NINTENDO WORLD will take it to a whole new level.” One of the event participants stated that, “I love everything about Mario so I wanted to come to this SUPER NINTENDO WORLD CHALLENGE today.
