Editorial 2 April 14, 2011 Editorial Motivation needed as school year ends The end of the school year grows closer and closer by the day. Graduation is right around the corner. Summer is almost here. TEST The important thing to remember is the present. You can’t stop running a race halfway through, and expect to win or even finish. The staff wants to send a message of hope and encouragement to all of our readers. The year today isn’t over yet, so we’ve all got to keep our priorities straight and handle our 4-21-11 business. For seniors, this end of the year slump has a special name. Senioritis is the lack of motivation and laziness that seniors feel they deserve or have earned. Senioritis can be easily combated with a strong dose of reality. Everyone wants to be successful, but many sit back and wait for an opportunity to arise. Seniors have to work hard to keep themselves motivated, so they don’t miss out. “Success isn’t a result of spontaneous combustion. You must set yourself on fire.” - Arnold H. Glasow Glasow’s message is similar to the staff’s. There’s no time to take a break. Sitting back and slacking off will accomplish nothing. We each have to keep the fire within us lit, so that we can make it through the year. For seniors, this fire will help keep grades up and keep graduation a possibility. For those who aren’t seniors, the message rings just as true. Passing is still a priority and staying motivated is still essential. With summer in sight, many want to take off early, which results in slumping grades and poor attitudes Roar of the Crowd Are you dealing with spring fever/senioritis? “I definitely have a little case of “No, I think school is awesome! “Yes, to be honest, I think this whole se- “I have currently been diagnosed “Nope, I am not.
