In the crowded realm of contemporary jazz guitar performers there is no shortage of talent, making it all the more difficult to establish and maintain a unique identity. ’s Tim Bowman, however, has been able to do exactly that and more. From his early days playing the guitar in church to formal training as a young adult, Tim Bowman has pulled from a multitude of influences and created a sound that infuses gospel, blues, R&B and jazz. Spending 6 years as the musical director for renowned gospel group, The Winans, has helped shape Bowman’s approach to his solo career and since hitting the jazz scene in 1996, he has been winning rave reviews, pleasing audiences all over the U.S. and gaining prominence at jazz radio.

Bowman’s first release, ‘Love, Joy, Peace’, met with immediate success in The Motor City and it wasn’t long until it was receiving national . Bowman’s follow-up projects ‘Paradise’ and ‘Smile’ both received widespread attention and great reviews as well but it was 2004’s ‘This is What I Hear’ which surpassed the success of all of Bowman’s prior albums with the smash #1 single, Summer Groove featuring saxophonist Nelson Rangell. The resulting acclaim solidified Bowman as a contemporary jazz All-Star and helped to land him a spot on the ’07 ‘Guitars and Saxes Tour’, alongside jazz luminaries Jeff Golub, Gerald Albright, and Kirk Whalum.

2010 saw the release of ‘The Collection’, showcasing some of Bowman's finest work and highlighting the unique depth of his ability as a talented songwriter. Tim's latest smash single, 'Seaside Drive', reached #1 at Billboard, winning praise from radio programmers and fans alike. Bowman is currently at work on a new release scheduled for Spring 2014. Bowman’s live performances have previously included high profile venues such as Jacksonville Jazz Festival, Soiled Dove/Denver, Catalina Island JazzTrax Festival/Avalon, CA, RamsHead/Annapolis/MD, Seabreeze Jazz Festival/Panama City Beach/FL and more.
