WHO WE ARE

1.

CLIENTRELATIONSHIP

Kluger Architects, Inc. will act as a liaison, guide, designer, and coordinator for your organization from idea inception through project completion. We will assist with each stage of the process and ensure the client’s comfort with the plethora of decisions that must be made.

Kluger Architects, Inc. believes that each organization’s staff members are the natural “Facility Managers.” We believe, as the occupiers of the spaces, they most likely understand what the project requires. From the project beginning, Kluger Architects, Inc. encourages a high level of input from these “facility managers” in order to develop a smoothly integrated design solution.

During the initial design programming phase, Kluger Architects compiles the guidelines for designing the project from workshops where user groups discuss various needs and requirements. These workshops allow Kluger Architects, Inc. to use diagrams, rough room layouts, and schematic plans for general critique until all members are satisfied with the anticipated design.

Charles Kluger, AIA will be the "team leader" for meetings, in - house staff and community and Parish based meetings and events. The project process will entail several meetings and relationship building meetings whereby the elements of the project will be discussed , researched and programming will be determined. The electronic surveys will be an integral part of the process.

COST EFFECTIVE ARCHITECTURE

Our designers are constantly researching the latest design and construction techniques and discovering low cost solutions to produce sophisticated architecture. We will evaluate your organization’s facilities with relevant design aesthetics to assist in reaching a creative solution. Additionally, the project may create an opportunity where the community can learn from the building’s design by incorporating sustainable design principles (e.g. alternative energy, day lighting solutions and natural ventilation systems) into the project’s aesthetics. Implementing creative architectural ideas can improve overall user health and decrease the cost of long-term facility upkeep.

WORKINGRELATIONSHIP

We have established strong Consultant relationships that complement each company’s work ethic. During the design process we coordinate the work between all the consultants to best develop the ideas generated in the programming phase into a fully functioning building. Our collaboration creates designs intended to last multiple decades, be cost effective, and uphold each facility’s design principles.

Kluger Architects, Inc. will assist in selecting the best design scheme and develop a series of construction phasing options based upon the project budget, function constraints, and temporary room use coordination. We monitor the potential costs at all significant stages of the project using industry sources to ensure compatibility with budget.

Cars are parked in the lot and then hoisted up by a lift, opening up space for another car underneath. The firm has already applied this technology to a project on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood, Kluger says, noting that if Long Beach likes the idea, the system could help overcome the challenges of an increasingly dense urban setting. "I think the city needs to look at alterna• tive ways of getting parking to work and ...how you make that work in an urban environment that, all around you, is now commercial," he explains. "[So] you look at new and exciting ways of trying to come up with alter• nate means." Southern California's growing den• sity also prompted the architects to examine the concept of live-work lofts that could reduce reliance on cars. Given the push toward environ• mental awareness as well as today's gas prices, these types of develop• ments are steadily gaining popularity, according to Kluger. In fact, the team is currently working on a project in Los Angeles that includes 27 live• work lofts that should be complete by the fall of 2009. In addition, Kluger Architects' port•

folio includes a number of medical facilities. Project Manager Tina W. Go, who heads the firm's Los Angeles office, applies her medical expertise to designing new medical centers, as well as modernizing or expanding hospital rooms, catheterization labs, operating rooms and imaging rooms.

CHURCH OF THE RESURRECTION Escondido, CA

CHURCH OF THE RESURRECTION Escondido, California

Positioned on the site in the North – South direction as the hallmark to the campus this new 19,835 sf main sanctuary is of the largest and most unique Catholic Churches in San Diego. The Church design is positioned and integrated into the existing sloping grades which allows the main 14 foot wood sculpted front doors to face the main expansive piazza and a large infused glass illuminated reredos located behind the Altar to face both the congregation from the inside and the city of Escondido from the exterior.

The Church is comprised of more than 1,400 seats which also includes a column free Main Sanctuary, Daily Chapel, a 35 person Choir, Quite Room, Sacristy, Reconciliation Rooms, Music Rooms, Altar Servers Room, granite devotional niche to “Our Lady”, a Vestment Room, Audio/Visual Room and a large expansive Narthex.

Artwork from various places around the world will adorn the Sanctuary. The primary art work will be from the Artisans of Don Bosco from both Peru and Italy. Local manufacturers were also specified for specific items include a local quarry for the granite Altar, Ambo, Baptismal Font and Holy Water Dispensers.

Church of the Resurrection is under construction and will open in 2018.

ST. RITA OF CASCIA Sierra Madre, California

For the most part of the 2016 year, Kluger Architects has been commissioned to work on the schematic master planning phase for the renovation and enhancement of St. Rita's Catholic Parish located in Sierra Madre. Our goal is to review existing conditions of site and program to provide a preliminary layout based upon the needs that were assessed during our investigation.

One singular element is to amalgamate two school buildings separated by a street into one educational campus. The preliminary design incorporates the Parish’s desire to complement the neighborhood’s craftsman-style residences.

ST. PETER CHANEL Hawaiian Gardens, California

Positioned directly on axis to the main road leading to the site, this Catholic Church was designed to be inspirational to all who may visit. This one thousand seat church is specifically designed to meet the growing needs of an ethnically diverse parish. Warm colors and materials grace the interior of the church and are used to accent certain areas; such as using marble as the platform and altar. These materials complement the various liturgical items that are placed on the raised platform. A semi-private sacristy carries the same theme at a smaller scale to allow for private adoration. The simple shapes and subtle color changes on the interior and exterior accentuate the architectural shapes and mass. The sweeping gracefulness of the high wood interior ceiling transitions into light wells over the altar, and at other key areas, to allow natural light to become part of the celebration.

The large exterior custom concrete plaza becomes a gathering place before and after services. The plaza pattern radiates from the center of the main entry doors. This radiating patter complements the 12 concrete columns standing at the entry.

ST. MARGARET MARY Lomita, California

The expansion and renovation of the existing Spanish Mission style church required sensitivity to the existing architectural style of the church. New lighting, additional pews, expansion of the seating area, new restrooms, flooring, storage, altar and baptismal front were necessary to accommodate the growing parish. The existing parish maintains a serene campus environment, which this renovation respected.

OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE El Monte, California

Once again a multi-purpose building design was the best option for this project. With a tight budget and strict demands, a space was required that could serve the community by offering meeting space, a commercial kitchen and housing for those that reside at the parish. The new design called for a plaza renovation, a new meeting hall, new priest accommodations and future plans for renovation of the Parish Hall and school buildings.

ST. GENEVIEVE Panorama City, California

St. Genevieve, a private Roman Catholic high school that serves as a higher form of educations in a predominantly low- income area, has been in need of expanding its outdated facility. As of 2013, St. Genevieve, a National School of Character, solicited Kluger Architects to generate a master plan that would include a new football field, high school, performing arts center, and parish center, plus extensive renovation of the existing elementary school.

Gymnasiums/Auditoriums

CATHEDRAL HIGH SCHOOL Los Angeles,

CLASSROOMS

Gymnasium and Football Field

Cathedral High School decided to divide the expansion and renovation of the school into two phases: (1) renovate and add a new gym/assembly space and science class rooms and (2) construct, in the future, a new performing arts facility.

Phase 1 was completed in 2008. The new wing consisted of a gymnasium, athletic facilities, assembly space, science labs, and additional classroom space. The new gymnasium was designed to be compliant with C.I.F. regulations and is equipped with locker rooms, a weight- lifting space, and an “alumni room” which is an observation balcony that overlooks downtown L.A.

The school is currently in the fund-raising phase for the future performing arts facility.

ST. FINBAR Burbank, California

This multi-phase campus master plan includes a new gymnasium / multi-purpose room, renovations to the convent, the rectory, the meeting rooms, the classrooms and the administrative offices. Opened in 2012, the first phase consists of the new gymnasium / multi- purpose Parish and school building, kitchen, and youth/after school program area.

VERBUM DEI HIGH SCHOOL Los Angeles, California

S

In conjunction with Verbum Dei High School and the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, Kluger Architects was invited to renovate the school by adding a new gymnasium, an athletic field, a concession, and library. The first project was completed in 2001 with a construction cost totaling $9,500,000. The second project renovated and upgraded four existing classrooms into six classrooms consisting of science, biology, physics and chemistry labs as well as a pre-algebra classroom

ST. PHILIP THE APOSTLE Pasadena, California

WS

The renovation and expansion project, completed in November 2007, focused on designing a new 11,000 square foot Parish Hall and a new 26,000 square foot, two-story, K-8 school building which were dedicated on December 7th, 2007 by his Eminence Cardinal Mahony creating a landmark project symbolizing a continuous progression of Saint Philip’s dedication of service to others. Kluger Architects was responsible for multiple aspects of design meant to join the various parts of St. Philip the Apostle School into one homogenous project.

PARACLETE HIGH SCHOOL Lancaster, California

Paraclete High School, a Catholic High School located in Lancaster, CA, required a new building for increased enrollment. This project consisted of a new multi-purpose gymnasium, a classroom building, and a master plan for the future growth. Phase 1 of the improvements was the 32,000 square foot two story facility that contains 16 expanded classrooms, two of which include retractable walls for added flexibility and continuing adult education, and a prep kitchen to accommodate a maximum enrollment of 800 plus students. The future expansion plans of Paraclete High School include a multi-lane track and field, a football field with surrounding bleachers, a baseball diamond and practice area, and a future art center featuring music, dance, theater and choir of which Kluger Architects Inc. will be intimately involved.

ST. JOACHIM Costa Mesa, California

The new 8,500 sq. ft. Gymnasium houses Saint Joachim’s athletic facilities as well as a multitude of other uses for the parish school including school assemblies, presentations, and performances. The new 18,079 Sq. Ft. school building provides the students with science and computer laboratories, a library, and classrooms from kindergarten through 8th grade. The building also provides the faculty with new offices, conference rooms, and a parish administration.

BISHOP MORA SALESIAN HIGH SCHOOL – GYMNASIUM Los Angeles, California

This landmark project symbolizes a new era in sports for Salesian High School. This once underdeveloped all boys school now boasts a new two story colored masonry gymnasium with regulation size basketball courts, a wrestling room, a fitness center, concessions, and locker rooms. The project also includes a C.I.F. regulation football field, on grade bleachers, renovated classrooms, a band room, and a new parking lot.

PADRE SERRA PARISH Camarrilo, California

Kluger Architects was chosen to construct a new Parish Center and administration offices. The finished design consisted of a 26,000 square foot building and new administration offices.

OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE Oxnard, California

Our Lady of Guadalupe in Oxnard is going to build a new TK, K, 1st Grade, Library and Science building. They hired Kluger Architects to do all of the designs and to make it best represent the school. The school has recently approved of our design scheme and we are looking forward to moving forward with the next phase.

OUR LADY OF FATIMA San Clemente, California

Kluger Architects was selected by Our Lady of Fatima to redesign the facade of their school, add a digital sign, create an ADA ramp, and completely redesign the entrance to the school.

The project was completed at the end of 2016 and our client was delighted to see the final product.
