Covington co-wrote the screenplay for the 2015 film Creed, a spin-off-sequel to the Rocky film series, starring Sylvester Stallone and Michael B. Jordan, with Ryan Coogler, who also directed the film. Covington is a personal friend of Coogler, and the two worked together with Stallone to green-light the film with MGM studios. Covington wrote and directed the storyline for the MyCareer mode in the video game NBA 2K17. He also worked on the US 2017 TV series "Minimum Wage". Article: 'Creed' Co-Writer to Pen 'Black Panther' Comic - January 09, 2018 7:30am by Graeme McMillan "Mario Del Pennino/Marvel Entertainment, Ryan Coogler collaborator Aaron Covington will write a two-issue storyline in 'Long Live the King.' The creatives making decisions in Wakanda are changing — for two issues, at least. Aaron Covington, who co-wrote Creed with Black Panther movie director Ryan Coogler, is joining artist Mario DelPennio for a two-issue storyline as part of Marvel’s digital Black Panther: Long Live the King comic book series. The two creators take over from Nnedi Okorafor and Andre Lima Araujo with the third issue of the series (the original pair will return for the series' final two issues to close out their storyline). The issues from Covington and DelPennio launch a new story in which T’Challa, the ruler of Wakanda and eponymous Black Panther, has to deal with a monster tearing through the country while also struggling to help the nation rebound from political strife. Can he do it? Well, you can check out a preview below and see if that offers any clues. Black Panther: Long Live the King is a ComiXology Originals release from Marvel, released on a biweekly schedule by Marvel exclusively on Amazon’s ComiXology platform. It follows Thor vs. Hulk: Champions of the Universe and The Immortal Iron Fists as part of the ongoing partnership, with a new Avengers series to follow this March." • History Committee Report NC185: Robotic Telescope— Page | 1 Suggested Celestial Targets with Historical Canadian Resonance
RASC History Committee Report NC185: Robotic Telescope— Page | 1 Suggested Celestial Targets with Historical Canadian Resonance 2018 September 16 Robotic Telescope—Suggested Celestial Targets with Historical Canadian Resonance ABSTRACT: At the request of the Society’s Robotic Telescope Team, the RASC History Committee has compiled a list of over thirty (30) suggested targets for imaging with the RC Optical System (Ritchey- Chrétien f/9 0.4-metre class, with auxiliary wide-field capabilities), chosen from mainly “deep sky objects Page | 2 which are significant in that they are linked to specific events or people who were noteworthy in the 150 years of Canadian history”. In each numbered section the information is arranged by type of object, with specific targets suggested, the name or names of the astronomers (in bold) the RASC Robotic Telescope image is intended to honour, and references to select relevant supporting literature. The emphasis throughout is on Canadian astronomers (in a generous sense), and RASC connections. NOTE: The nature of Canadian observational astronomy over most of that time changed slowly, but change it did, and the accepted celestial targets, instrumental capabilities, and recording methods are frequently different now than they were in 1868, 1918, or 1968, and those differences can startle those with modern expectations looking for analogues to present/contemporary practice. The following list attempts to balance those expectations, as well as the commemoration of professionals and amateurs from our past. 1. OBJECT: Detail of lunar terminator (any feature). ACKNOWLEDGES: 18th-19th century practical astronomy (astronomy of place & time), the practitioners of which used lunar observation (shooting lunars) to determine longitude.

  • The Horan Family Diaspora Since Leaving Ireland 191 Years Ago
A Genealogical Report on the Descendants of Michael Horan and Mary Minnock by A.L. McDevitt Introduction The purpose of this report is to identify the descendants of Michael Horan and Mary Minnock While few Horans live in the original settlement locations, there are still many people from the surrounding areas of Caledon, and Simcoe County, Ontario who have Horan blood. Though heavily weigh toward information on the Albion Township Horans, (the descendants of William Horan and Honorah Shore), I'm including more on the other branches as information comes in. That is the descendants of the Horans that moved to Grey County, Ontario and from there to Michigan and Wisconsin and Montana. I also have some information on the Horans that moved to Western Canada. This report was done using Family Tree Maker 2012. The Genealogical sites I used the most were Ancestry.ca, Family Search.com and Automatic Genealogy. While gathering information for this report I became aware of the importance of getting this family's story written down while there were still people around who had a connection with the past. In the course of researching, I became aware of some differences in the original settlement stories. I am including these alternate versions of events in this report, though I may be personally skeptical of the validity of some of the facts presented. All families have myths. I feel the dates presented in the Land Petitions of Mary Minnock and the baptisms in the County Offaly, Ireland, Rahan Parish registers speak for themselves. Though not a professional Genealogist, I have the obligation to not mislead other researchers.

  • British Royal Ancestry Book 6, Kings of England from King Alfred the Great to Present Time
GRANHOLM GENEALOGY BRITISH ROYAL ANCESTRY, BOOK 6 Kings of England INTRODUCTION The British ancestry is very much a patchwork of various beginnings. Until King Alfred the Great established England various Kings ruled separate parts. In most cases the initial ruler came from the mainland. That time of the history is shrouded in myths, which turn into legends and subsequent into history. Alfred the Great (849-901) was a very learned man and studied all available past history and especially biblical information. He came up with the concept that he was the 72nd generation descendant of Adam and Eve. Moreover he was a 17th generation descendant of Woden (Odin). Proponents of one theory claim that he was the descendant of Noah’s son Sem (Shem) because he claimed to descend from Sceaf, a marooned man who came to Britain on a boat after a flood. (See the Biblical Ancestry and Early Mythology Ancestry books). The book British Mythical Royal Ancestry from King Brutus shows the mythical kings including Shakespeare’s King Lair. The lineages are from a common ancestor, Priam King of Troy. His one daughter Troana leads to us via Sceaf, the descendants from his other daughter Creusa lead to the British linage. No attempt has been made to connect these rulers with the historical ones. Before Alfred the Great formed a unified England several Royal Houses ruled the various parts. Not all of them have any clear lineages to the present times, i.e. our ancestors, but some do. I have collected information which shows these. They include; British Royal Ancestry Book 1, Legendary Kings from Brutus of Troy to including King Leir.
