; Gonzaga University has won 29 of the last 35 meetings with the University of San Francisco since losing both games in the series in 1989, the last time the Dons have put together back-to-back wins over the Bulldogs. USF has lost 17 straight games in Spokane – 15 in the old Kennel and twice in the McCarthey Athletic Center. The last USF win in Spokane was 67-64 on Feb. 10, 1989. Gonzaga captured last year’s meeting in Spokane 75-72 as Pierre Marie Altidor-Cespedes drained a 3-pointer with :01 to play. The previous season Adam Morrison’s 18-footer from the left wing with less than a second to play gave Gonzaga a 75-73 verdict. USF snapped a 12-game losing streak in the series with a 73-70 win in San Francisco in 2005. ; Gonzaga University dropped from the top rung to second in free throw percentage according to the latest NCAA statistics through games of Sunday. The Bulldogs were connecting on 78.1 percent to the University of California/s 78.4 percent. Gonzaga is at 78.7 percent following Monday’s game at the University of Portland, while Cal fell to 78.1 percent through Thursday’s game with UCLA. The Bulldogs also rank 22nd in the scoring offense, averaging 79.6 ppg.
