Music Style the Band History MUSIC STYLE Loup-Garou is an alternative blues band from Belgrade, Serbia. An unexpected fusion of melancholic blues, dynamic swing, energetic funk-rock and mystical swamp blues resulted in a new dimension of blues that hasn’t been seen before. Band composes original music that tends to shake foundations of the blues and expand its horizons. THE BAND Band published its first album Witchcraft and Spirits in December 2019. With its 13 original compositions it tries to capture the complexity of emotions of a today’s man. Sadness, grief, love, happiness and disappointment are embodied and expressed through an alternative version of blues, occasionally intertwined with references to Louisiana culture and symbolism of New Orleans voodoo. Band promoted the songs during their 2019 Balkans tour, successfully earning positive reviews and feedback from audience in Romania, Serbia, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Montenegro, quickly ranking the band as the upcoming blues act of Eastern Europe. HISTORY The band was founded by lead singer and guitarist Vladan Petrović in 2016. He joined forces with harmonica player Ivan Jovanović and started working on their original songs. They completed the band’s final line-up in May 2018. The two make up the main creative engine of the band. Along with Vladimir Nedić (slide guitar) who gives the southern feel to the band’s sound and Milutin Kažić who is in charge of heavy-blues bass lines, impeccably aligned with Stefan Marković ‘s rhythms and timing (drums), Loup-Garou explores the limits of blues giving it a new dimension of “alternative”. Since band’s completion, the band has been regularly performing on major regional festivals and local blues, jazz and rock clubs. During the summer of 2019, Loup-Garou was on the first regional tour, playing on over 20 concerts in Romania, Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Some of the notable festivals are: Open Air Blues Festival (ROU), Nišville Jazz Fest (SRB), Budva Beer Fest (MNE), Petrovac Jazz Fest (MNE), Beer Fest Bijeljina (BIH), Mountain Music Fest (SRB), Blues Pentru Timisoara (ROU), and others. 2010 was a landmark year for Kazakhstan and for the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). It was the first time a Central Asian nation held the leadership role of a major international organisation, but Kazakhstan was KazaKhstan also the first non-democracy to hold the OSCE’s Chairmanship. Kazakhstan at a Crossroads , based on three previous Foreign Policy Centre reports, gives a clear overview of Kazakhstan’s political and economic challenges, AT A CROSSROADS along with an assessment of its developing role in the world. After the OSCE’s By adam hug missed opportunity it argues that if Kazakhstan wants to further develop a regional and global leadership role, the international community must insist that President Nazarbayev makes significant political reforms to improve its human rights and governance. the Foreign Policy Centre suite 11, second floor 23-28 Penn street London n1 5DL United Kingdom www.fpc.org.uk [email protected] © Foreign Policy Centre 2011 all rights reserved IsBn-13 978-1-905833-20-7 IsBn-10 1-905833-20-2 £4.95 Kazakhstan at a Crossroads by Adam Hug Policy Director Foreign Policy Centre First published in April 2011 (adapted from three papers published in December 2009, September 2010 & December 2010) by The Foreign Policy Centre Suite 11, Second Floor, 23-28 Penn Street London N1 5DL www.fpc.org.uk [email protected] ©Foreign Policy Centre 2011 All Rights Reserved ISBN-13 978-1-905833-20-7 ISBN-10 1-905833-20-2 Disclaimer: The views expressed in this report are those of the author and do not necessarily represent the views of the Foreign Policy Centre 1 Acknowledgements This publication has been kindly supported by the Civil Activity Fund, a Kazakhstan based private fund with the strategic objective of the development of Kazakhstan’s Civil Society.

ART & RECONCILIATION CONFLICT CULTURE COMMUNITY Working Paper Series Fairey, Tiffany. 2019. ‘Evaluation Report: Balkan Diskurs Youth Correspondents Programme, Bosnia and Herzegovina.’ Art and Reconciliation Working Paper Series. Available at: https://artreconciliation.org/research-activities/publications/ https://artreconciliation.org/ Fairey, T. 2019. Evaluation Report: Balkan Diskurs Youth Correspondents Programme 2017-18, Bosnia And Herzegovina. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY This report details evaluative research on Balkan Diskurs Youth Correspondents Program conducted over 2017-18. Balkan Diskurs Youth Correspondents Program is run by Post Conflict Research Centre (PCRC), a peacebuilding organisation based in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The evaluative research sought to explore how the program was experienced by the youth correspondent participants and whether (and how) it did or did not affect their attitudes towards reconciliation and capacity as young peace-builders and change makers. The evaluation was conducted by researchers working on the AHRC funded, Art & Reconciliation. Balkan Diskurs Youth Correspondents Program is shown to be a successful model for enabling youth-driven participatory media and peace-building by building the capacity, creativity and skills of young people identified as potential change-makers. Solidifying their positive attitudes towards inter-ethnic co-operation, reconciliation and inclusive society, the project amplified and extended the profiles and networks of its active participants as young peace-builders and media professionals. The Balkan Diskurs platform provides a unique space for young people to define, share and influence peace-building and civil society narratives and agendas. This report details the objectives of the evaluative research; the evaluation data complied and provides an analysis of the key findings on participant profiles, participation levels, outputs and participant perceptions of the project experience.
