A. 7495, Bogotá - Colombia; Correo electrónico: [email protected] RESUMEN Se provee un listado de los géneros y especies de Anisoptera (Insecta: Odonata) depositados en la colección entomológica del Instituto de Ciencias Naturales de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia, sede Bogotá. Esta colección posee 2900 especímenes de Odonata recolectados desde 1940 en 27 departamentos del país. El 53% de los especímenes pertenece al suborden Anisoptera, representado por tres familias, Aeshnidae, Gomphidae y Libellulidae, 38 géneros y 91 especies; que constituyen el 80% de géneros y especies reportadas para el sub- orden en Colombia. Los géneros mejor representados en la colección son Erythrodiplax (37%), Uracis (15%) y Erythemis (8%). Se confirma la presencia en Colombia de Uracis siemensi Kirby, 1897, U. infumata (Ram- bur, 1842) y Zenithoptera viola Ris, 1910. Palabras clave: Odonata, libélula, Anisoptera, Neotrópico. SUMMARY A list of genera and species of Anisoptera (Insecta: Odonata) deposited in the entomology collection of the Instituto de Ciencias Naturales, Universidad Nacional de Colombia in Bogotá is given. This collection holds 2900 specimens of Odonata which have been collected since 1940 across 27 departments of the country. More than a half of the specimens are Anisoptera (53%) and these are represented by three families Aeshnidae, Gomphidae, and Libellulidae, 38 genera and 91 species. These numbers constitute 80% of the genera and species of the suborder reported from Colombia. -

| ENTOMOFAUNA LÓTICA BIOINDICADORA DE LA CALIDAD DEL AGUA LOTIC ENT OMOFAUNA AS BIOINDICATOR OF WAT ER’S QUALITY RESUMEN Los estudios sobre la calidad del agua, pueden tener diferentes sistemas de realización. El empleo de los insectos acuáticos es uno de éstos, por lo cual se hace una revisión de las investigaciones con macro-invertebrados como indicadores biológicos para el Departamento de Antioquia. Se exploran fuentes documentales a nivel nacional e internacional para complementar el acopio de información. Se encuentran aportes dispersos, que emplean diversos índices, los cuales se analizan y se proponen nuevas consideraciones en el empleo de los insectos acuáticos para el departamento, en el proceso de evaluación de cuerpos de agua. El trabajo plantea la utilización de índices que faciliten el hallazgo de resultados, en la evaluación de la calidad de las aguas. PALABRAS CLAVES: INSECTOS, ÍNDICES ECOLÓGICOS, CONTAMINACIÓN. ABST RACT The studies about w ater’s quality, can have different realization systems. Its species are discussed and their diagnostic mor- phological characters elucidated by figures. The hitherto unknown females of R. hinei Calvert and R. pruinosa Buchholz are described. A key to the species is provided. Introduction The Neotropical libellulid genus Rhodopygia Kirby, 1889, occurs in Central and South America. Five species referable to this genus are recorded, viz. Rhodopygia car- dinalis (Erichson, 1848), Rhodopygia pruinosa Buchholz, 1953, Rhodopygia geijskesi Belle, 1964, Rhodopygia hinei Calvert, 1907 and Rhodopygia hollandi Calvert, 1907. They all occur in South America but for Rhodopygia hinei there is no published record of a South-American country (Paulson, 1982). This species and Rhodopygia cardinalis are the only members which are also known from Central America. I myself have collect- ed a single pair of Rhodopygia hinei in Costa Rica and many specimens of the other four species in Suriname. In this paper it is intended to give a survey of the representatives of the genus Rhodopygia and to present a key for their identification. For that goal I have used the existing material in the National Museum of Natural History, Leiden. -

The Bandeera Peninsula is visible in the middle distance. The prominent mountain massif in the center of the picture consists of the twin peaks of Mt. Maru and Mt. Togari. The highest peaks on the island, lying beyond to the south, are un-named on current topographic maps. Note the plume of low salinity water from the inflow springs cutting at an angle across the lake surface the in the lower right hand portion of the picture. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY The island of Pagan, one of the largest in the Northern Marianas, lacks perennial streams but possesses an interesting set of lentic ecosystems, including two mixohaline lakes lying at differing elevations, and a tidally influenced, diurnally transient freshwater wetland. The island also features diverse intertidal systems on its rugged coastlines with tide pools formed in both basalt and limestone exposures. Collections of aquatic insects were made from these inland water and intertidal habitats at 8 sampling stations ranging in elevation from 0–15 m. -

The present study provides a well- substantiated phylogeny of the Libelluloidea generated from gene fragments of two independent genes, the 16S and 28S ribosomal RNA (rRNA), and using models that take into account non-independence of correlated rRNA sites. Ninety-three ingroup taxa and six outgroup taxa were amplified for the 28S fragment; 78 ingroup taxa and five outgroup taxa were amplified for the 16S fragment.
