Conveyor Safety Requirements 18 The discussion began with a mention that the safety of employees working on this equipment 19 has been an ongoing discussion by the Committee, B77 Committee, and various jurisdictions. While 20 all seem to agree that appropriate changes would help reduce the occurrence of injury, there are 21 many different approaches still being considered in the various jurisdictions. 22 23 At the May 6, 2019 meeting the Committee decided to consider requiring resorts to have 24 a policy and training for worker safety specific for conveyors, and that the policy would be 25 reviewed to ensure compliance with the manufactures manuals and subsequent maintenance 26 bulletins. 27 28 Following input and discussion from those present today it seemed that the Committee 29 members agreed to allow each area to develop a policy for working on conveyors. The resorts 30 should work with the manufactures to ensure they have all the requirements that apply to their 31 equipment and that their policies should be in compliance with those requirements. That means 32 if a manufacturer recommends an area add circuitry to facilitate lock out tag out, then the area is 33 expected to add that circuitry. 34 35 The progress on conveyor policies will be one of the issues reviewed at the operation 36 visit. 37 38 39 III. Memorandum of Understanding – Forest Service / UPRSC 40 Since the May committee meeting James Palmer, assistant attorney general, has completed a 41 review of the proposed MOU and previous agreements that have been signed. The proposed 42 document is similar to the previous agreement and he did not express any concerns or issues for the 43 committee to consider. The members present did not have any items or issues to discuss about the 44 MOU. Jeff West made a motion to support the committee signing the MOU. Russ Oberlander 45 seconded the motion, and it passed unanimously. 46 47 48 49 50 51 52 53 1 Page 3 2 Deer Valley Resort 3 Park City, Utah 4 June 5, 2019 5 6 7 IV.
